The Transitional Center for LGBTQ Youth Transitional Center ror LGBTQ youth is a pilot program in El Paso, TX seeking to empower young individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

LGBTQ street youth contend with sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking violence, trauma, HIV infection, mental health issues and substance abuse than their heterosexual counterparts in the homeless youth population. LGBTQ youth comprise a very disproportionate number of the homeless youth population. The Transitional Center would like to offer our youth quality services in an

LGBTQ-Positive environment. Given that LGBTQ youth face more discrimination and harassment that so many other youth face, they need all-inclusive support and encouragement to develop pride an security in their LGBTQ identities.
