2016 is coming to a close, we want to see a better 2017... Have you had that thought run through your head? Well, 2017 can be better. But what would better look like? Have you thought beyond the "better" and actually defined what would be required to make it better? If you've gotten that far then it's safe to say you've addressed an area that needs improvement. Maybe it's an unproductive activity. If that's the case have you made any goals? Have you written them down? If you don't write them down they're nothing more than a wish. Write them down and give them life. Tell someone that will hold you accountable why you need to do this. Find a why that makes you cry. Put a timeline on your goals. Give someone permission to tell you when you're off track. 2016 is coming to a close in 4 weeks, it's time to think about what will make 2017 better than 2016. Identify it, make it Specific, make it Meaningful, make it attainable, make it Realistic and Track it. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life, and you were born to win. Make it count!

Let me ask you a question. Do you set goals or do you just drift aimlessly, like a boat drifting without a crew? Proverbs 13:16 TLB A wise man thinks ahead; a fool doesn’t and even brags about it! If you plan, then you plan to succed. If you don't, you're leaving it to chance. You might as well just play the lottery. But that would be foolish. The Bible clearly states in Proverbs that a fool and his money soon part. So why leave it to chance? Let's talk about the SMART choice of planning and setting goals. A SMART person: 1) sets Specific goals. 2) sets Meaningful goals. 3) sets goals that are Attainable. 4) sets Realistic goals. 5) sets goals that are Trackable. If you aim for nothing, you'll hit it every time. Let's get together and work SMARTer not harder.

If you have a "vision" for success, wouldn't it be safe to say that YOUR focus determines YOUR reality?

Every day was once a tomorrow and today will soon be yesterday. Have you accomplished what you set out to? Are you living your dream? Why not? Are you not a person of your word? You told yourself you would. Who stole your dream? Nobody did, you gave it up. Take it back. Today is the first day of your new start. On your marks, get set...... don't wait for someone to tell you to GO, do it yourself. Give yourself permission to be successful, it's all up to you.

If you're always racing to the next moment, what happens to the one you're in? TODAY'S MISSION: Be present in the moment you're in right now.

Fear wants you to lean backwards towards your last safe moment and hope wants for a better tomorrow. But what happens to the person standing in front of you right now. What about this very moment? Today's now was yesterday's hope. But THIS is the moment you possess. You own this moment. What will you do with it it? BE PRESENT. Drink in, absorb the moment. Open your eyes and embrace all that this moment of your life is. You'll never have THIS moment again. Eric Hansen, Senior Pastor @ I Worship Center in Springfield, Illinois

If everybody approached today with the same mindset you are, what kind of today would we be experiencing? Remember, you're responsible for your today, make it count.

If you're placing your hope in tomorrow, remember today was yesterdays tomorrow. Did today turn out to be what you had hoped it would be? Do it today

I had a conversation recently with a friend whose spouse had asked Jenn about a home based business that I am involved in. We discussed the business, shared the benefits, had good conversation and there was some genuine excitement, but they had to do a little research on their own. I was good with that, even encouraged it. We followed up and continued to get evasive answers. A few weeks later I was told they weren’t interested because of all of the bad publicity and the small claims that they had found. That bothered me. It bothered me that someone that I consider a close friend would think that I would knowingly lead them into something that would scar their reputation or set them up for a bad future.

With that in mind, it just kept bouncing around in my head, it just wouldn’t leave. So, I did my own research. Here’s what I found:
Wal-Mart has approximately 1.3 million employees (we have approximately 1.7 million customers). With this in mind I found it interesting that Wal-Mart has roughly 5,000 suits filed against them annually, or about 17 per working day. (1) According to the BBB, my company has had 638 complaints in the last 3 years. Wal-Mart surpasses that in just over 5 weeks. I used Wal-Mart as my example simply from a numbers standpoint.

So, I did a little more reviewing. I looked at McDonalds, Hardees, Dairy Queen, Culvers, Target, Sears, Best Buy, Office Max, Menards, Home Depot & Lowes. I even did their utility providers. I wanted a good mix. I didn’t’ want it to be biased. There was some consistency in what I found, they all have complaints. It just baffles me sometimes the excuses we hear. The funny thing, I know they do business with some (if not all) of these businesses.

In my research I was glad to find that we have an A+ rating with the BBB. Now, I can put it to rest. I’m pleased to know that I represent a legitimate company that truly cares about their representatives and their customers. Not that I ever questioned it, but doing the research and finding what I did made me feel better.

If ever you want an opportunity to change your financial future and that of generations to follow, send me a quick note.

Thank you for taking the time to allow me to decompress and for reading my rant.
