What a great way to celebrate Labor Day! ✊🏽

I loved being out at the 47th Annual Labor Day Parade, Picnic & Rally, surrounded by so many labor brothers, sisters, siblings, friends, and familiar faces.

It was especially great seeing our future Governor Xavier Becerra, along with legislators and local elected leaders, all coming together to celebrate the working people who keep our communities moving forward.

I’ve always believed that when we stand with working families, we strengthen our entire community. Proud to stand with labor today and always. 💪🏽❤️

This Labor Day, we honor the working people whose hard work, sacrifice, and determination built our communities and secured many of the protections workers have today.

The eight-hour workday, weekends, safer workplaces, fair wages, and the right to organize were not simply given. Generations of workers stood together and fought for them.

Here in El Monte, working families are the backbone of our community. I’m proud to stand with working people and organized labor and will continue fighting for good-paying jobs, dignity, and opportunity for every family.

El Monte High School is celebrating an incredible 125 years, and there’s a full weekend of festivities planned to bring Lions, families, alumni, and our entire El Monte community together!

Come out for the Homecoming Game, then keep the celebration going at the FSA Homecoming After Party at El Sombrero Restaurant, 3550 Santa Anita Ave. Proceeds from FSA fundraising help provide students with prom tickets, Grad Night tickets, yearbooks, and memorable high school experiences.

Today, I officially filed to run for re-election as your Mayor of El Monte for a 4th term.

Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my life. As the longest-serving member of the City Council, with almost 8 years of service, I know that experience matters. Our city is facing important decisions, and it is critical to have experienced leadership at the helm.

Throughout my time in office, I have never been afraid to ask the hard questions, challenge the status quo, or stand up for what I believe is right. My commitment has always been to the people of El Monte.

While we’ve made meaningful progress, our city continues to face serious financial challenges. I will continue fighting to get El Monte back on track by demanding fiscal responsibility, calling out unnecessary overspending, protecting taxpayer dollars, and ensuring every decision is made with transparency and accountability.

I remain committed to investing in our neighborhoods and infrastructure, protecting programs for our children, families, seniors, and veterans, supporting public safety, keeping residents informed and creating opportunities for our residents and local businesses.

I’m ready to keep fighting for the city I love, and I humbly ask for your continued support as we continue moving El Monte forward—together.

Thank you for believing in me and for the opportunity to serve. Let’s keep building a stronger El Monte.

One of my priorities as Mayor is making sure residents stay informed. Here’s a look at some of the key actions approved during our July 8 City Council meeting and what they mean for our community.

👧 Investing more than $2.19 million to continue after-school programs, youth sports, cheerleading, and enrichment opportunities for our children.

👵 Continuing funding for senior supportive services and nutrition programs that help older adults remain healthy, active, and connected.

These investments reflect my commitment to supporting children, families, and seniors while ensuring El Monte continues to provide quality programs that strengthen our community.

It was truly an honor to celebrate a remarkable milestone this weekend.

On Saturday, I had the privilege of wishing Alex Chavarria, a proud United States Army Sergeant and World War II veteran, a very happy 100th birthday. 🎉🇺🇸

Surrounded by his loving family and friends, they celebrated a century of courage, sacrifice, resilience, and a life well lived. Alex’s service to our nation and the legacy he leaves for future generations are an inspiration to us all.

Happy 100th Birthday, Alex! Thank you for your service, your strength, and the example you’ve set. It was a privilege to help celebrate this incredible milestone with you and your family. Here’s to 100 amazing years! ❤️

💼 What an incredible day for El Monte!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the City of El Monte Job & Resource Fair! We were proud to welcome an estimated 500 attendees and approximately 30 employers, educational institutions, apprenticeship programs, utility providers, and community organizations for a day focused on opportunity and connection.

Whether you were searching for a new job, exploring a career change, learning about college programs, or discovering apprenticeship pathways, I hope you left with valuable resources and meaningful connections.

A sincere thank you to all of our community partners for investing in our residents and making this event such a success. We were fortunate to have businesses and educational partners representing a wide range of industries, creating opportunities for people at every stage of their career journey.

I also want to recognize our amazing City of El Monte staff, whose hard work and dedication made today’s event possible. Your commitment to serving our community is deeply appreciated.
