Our first matilija bloom of the season! Come by the next two Saturdays to check out the blooms! We're open Saturdays. 1-5pm. This year the bloom is going to be spectacular since we counted over the dozen bulbs already. Stay tuned for a volunteer day where we help w**d and clean our backlot to prep for summer organizing and programs.

Come join us for a Lunar New Year celebration on February 28 from 3:00-7:00 PM featuring mahjong, small local artists and vendors, and a performance by the SGV Symphony Orchestra string quartet. This is a free family-friendly event with activities such as calligraphy and woodblock print making.

It's been a long two months of fighting the data center, supporting community defense, and continuing to provide community programming at our space. Although the event is free to attend, donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. Your donations help support Matilija Collective and this ongoing work.

It's the year of the Fire Horse! Join and for a celebration on Saturday February 28 from 3–7 PM featuring mahjong, local vendors, and a performance by the SGV Symphony string quartet. It'll take place at the Jeff Seymour Family Center, 10900 Mulhall St., El Monte.

Suggested donation: $20. Donations are optional but greatly appreciated and help support Matilija Collective.

Recap of our healing circle last week 🌀🍵🤎 We were able to treat about 20 people through cupping and ear acuwellness, and raise funds for Hamed, a dentist in Gaza, who’s trying to get his visa in Germany. We also had relaxing herbal teas, journaling, and coloring pages for people to come hang out or after their treatments 🎨🌷✨ Thank you to our healing practitioners and those who came out to support!

Community Healing Circle this Sunday January 11 at 2 PM at Matilija Lending Library in El Monte.

Join us for an afternoon of care and connection. We will offer cupping and ear acupuncture alongside group conversation and nervous system support tea. This is a gentle space to slow down, listen, and be in community.

Sliding scale donations. All funds raised will support Dr. Hamed Al Ostaz in his journey to Germany from Gaza.

-Wheelchair accessible space with a single stall all gender restroom.
-Covid testing and face masks required.

It’s Small Business Saturday! Support small businesses like ours by shopping local. At Matilija Lending Library only, all books are 20% off today.

We know we’re only open for four hours on Saturdays (1pm–5pm), so please plan accordingly — and consider signing up to volunteer with us so we can open longer hours in the future.

If you’re joining the Passport Challenge, the list of stores below is arranged in our recommended east-west and west-east travel route. Here are today’s store hours:

• Matilija Lending Library (1pm–5pm)
• (9am–6pm)
• (10am–8pm)
• (10am–6pm)
• (10am–6pm)
• (8am–6:30pm)

Please pick up your passport from the bookstore you selected during registration.

Remember: to receive your stamp at each store, you’ll need to spend at least $20.

You have until December 15 to complete your passport, but if you’re planning to visit all shops today, this route will help guide your drive or bike journey across the valley.

Join us for a cozy night in at the library for some coloring and hot chocolate! ☃️☕️ We’ll have a hot chocolate bar with non-dairy options and toppings and herbal tea to set the mood ✨ This event is open to all with a suggested donation of $5 to go back to funding the library.
