The EDUHSD Pacific Crest Academy (previously named Virtual Academy) is a blended face-to-face and virtual public high school. Our school offers a comprehensive, individualized, and rigorous approach to high school education in a small school setting. Students at PCA have the option of participating in the PCA Early College Program where they can complete up to twelve transferable college courses f
or free, saving themselves and their families thousands of dollars in tuition and fees! As a WASC accredited and California Certified Charter School, the Pacific Crest Academy, is available to high school students both within El Dorado County, as well as the surrounding counties. A blended 4×4 schedule offers a mix of yearlong courses and courses that are completed in the traditional “semester” time frame. For students looking to remain connected to their friends, PCA students have the opportunity to take course offerings at their local school of residence. Whether athletics, music, theater, or any other specialized program, PCA students have the opportunity to take part in their home school's programs. Students at Pacific Crest Academy receive ample college and career planning advice through a series of guidance lessons and individualized meetings throughout high school. Parents have the opportunity to meet individually with the director, including night and weekend appointments, to partner with the school in their child's college and career planning process. Students are provided with direct instruction and support for all major subject areas, including science labs, foreign language, and core subjects by highly qualified teachers. Weekly tutorials are available for students needing additional support.
