Please join us for our 2026 Pinning Ceremony this evening at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Our Pinning Ceremony is a formal recognition of promotions, paramedic achievements, honoring years of service. and our yearly Firefighter of the Year award.

The El Dorado Fire Department was dispatched to Wildcat Recycling on Industrial Road this afternoon for an explosion and fire.

Units responding included; Chief 1, Chief 3, Chief 4, Battalion 1, Engine 2, Engine 4, Rescue 1, and Ladder 1.

Firefighters quickly contained multiple fires resulting from an explosion that occurred while workers were disassembling a large metal pipe.

There were no additional hazards to the surrounding area, and the scene was brought under control in a timely manner.

Responding agencies included the El Dorado Police Department, Union County Sheriff Office, Arkansas State Police, Promed Ambulance, and Union County Office of Emergency Management.

As we wrap up EMS Week, we want to thank our dedicated crews for their teamwork, compassion, and commitment to serving our community every day.

We’re also grateful for all of our partners — medical facilities, ambulance, air, law enforcement, dispatchers, and everyone who works alongside us.

This morning, Battalion 1, Rescue 1, and Engine 4 responded to a residential structure fire in Oak Manor. Crews acted quickly to contain the fire and keep it confined to one room.

We appreciate the assistance of Parkers Chapel VFD with mutual aid support.
