As work continues on the force main and lift station replacement project east of town, River Road will be closed off of Highway 54 and South of the park entrance beginning Thursday, June 25. During this project, which is repairing damage caused by last June's flood, River Road apartments will not have access to the highway from their drives. They will have to enter and exit the apartment complex using Stone Road. People will also be able to access the Riverside Park from Stone Road, taking River Road around behind the apartments to the park. The closure will remain in place for a few weeks.

Fourth of July is quickly approaching and that means fireworks will be starting soon. Here's a reminder of the times you can shoot fireworks in the City. Please be courtesy of your neighbors and clean up all firework debris from the street and curb line. Please allow fireworks to cool before placing in trash carts.

Sunday was a great evening to spend outside celebrating Flag Day and America's 250th with the El Dorado Municipal Band. The 250th celebration will continue on July 3 and 4, with the Independence Day celebration, parade, Veterans ceremony, baseball and fireworks! Be sure to mark your calendars and get your parade entry turned in by June 22! Also, be sure to catch the Municipal Band at 7:30 p.m. every Thursday at the Forest Park Band Shell.
