We’re giving conference attendees a first look at an exciting new ProMed product line with some very interesting possibilities for rural communities across Arkansas.

26 Years of World Class Care. Hometown Values.

Today marks 26 years since ProMed Ambulance was established.

On September 1, 2000, Ken Kelley and Terry Bracy began writing the next chapter of an EMS journey that had already been shaped by nearly two decades of serving, planning, designing, and implementing high-quality, professional advanced life support services across Arkansas.

Through years of working under other ownership and a brief period under the ownership of a large national corporation, one belief never changed: ambulance service is personal. It is personal to the patients who call us during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. It is personal to the families who trust us with those they love. And it is personal to the communities that depend upon their ambulance service to be there when it matters most.

ProMed Ambulance was founded on September 1, 2000, following the acquisition of Rural/Metro Corporation’s Arkansas operations, returning the service to local ownership, local leadership, and local control.

Over the past 26 years, ProMed has experienced continued strategic growth while remaining grounded in the principles upon which the company was founded. From a locally owned ambulance service to one of Arkansas’s most respected EMS systems, our story has been written by thousands of calls, countless challenges, changing communities, advances in medicine and technology, and, most importantly, the dedicated people who have worn the ProMed uniform.

Today, we honor our past and recognize those whose hard work, sacrifice, leadership, and vision helped bring us to this point. Some remain part of our organization today. Others have moved on or retired. Each played a role in building the organization we are privileged to carry forward.

We are especially thankful for every ProMed team member who continues that legacy today. Whether serving aboard an ambulance, answering a 911 call, supporting our fleet, educating the next generation, caring for our patients behind the scenes, or leading our operations, each contributes to a mission that began 26 years ago.

Much has changed since September 1, 2000. What has not changed is our commitment to the communities we serve and our belief that exceptional EMS should always remain connected to the people and places that call upon us.

For 26 years, that has meant delivering World Class Care while never losing sight of our Hometown Values.

Today, we celebrate where we have been, appreciate everyone who helped us get here, and look forward to the chapters still to be written.

Some days, even lunch together is something special! 🚑💙💚

Our Ouachita County team members had a rare opportunity today to slow down for a few minutes and enjoy a bite of lunch together. In EMS, schedules don’t always line up, and calls don’t stop just because it’s mealtime.

Our team members miss plenty of meals at home with their own families while answering the call to care for others. That’s why moments like this matter. Sitting down together, sharing a meal, a few laughs, and some conversation helps strengthen the work family that stands beside each other through long shifts, busy days, and difficult calls.

We’re thankful for our Ouachita County crew and all of our ProMed team members who give so much of themselves to serve their communities.

Sometimes the best team building happens around the lunch table.

🤠 Keeping the Rodeo Safe at the Randolph County Fair! 🚑

ProMed team members have been on hand at the Randolph County Fair, helping ensure both rodeo athletes and fans have medical support close by while they enjoy all the action.

From the arena to the grandstands, our crews are ready to respond when needed and proud to support another great community event in Randolph County.

We’ll be back on hand again this evening as the fair wraps up, so come out, enjoy the final night, and have a safe time at the rodeo!

🚑 A Proud Day for Arkansas EMS

ProMed is proud to recognize our President & CEO, Ken Kelley, who joined Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and EMS leaders from across Arkansas for the announcement of $10 million in Rural Health Transformation Program funding dedicated to strengthening EMS providers throughout our state.

This investment is a significant opportunity for Arkansas EMS, especially for rural ambulance services that face growing challenges related to equipment, technology, workforce, and access to care.

We are incredibly proud of the work of the Arkansas Ambulance Association in helping bring this initiative forward. Countless hours have gone into identifying the needs of Arkansas ambulance providers, developing priorities, and advocating for meaningful investment in the EMS system.

We are also proud that Ken continues to represent ProMed while working for something much larger than our own organization. His involvement reflects our belief that a stronger EMS system benefits every provider, every community, and every patient across Arkansas.

We appreciate Governor Sanders and state leaders for recognizing the critical role EMS plays in Arkansas healthcare and for making this historic investment possible.

At ProMed, we remain committed to advancing EMS, supporting our colleagues across the state, and helping build a stronger future for emergency medical services in Arkansas.

FIRST RESPONDERS RECOGNIZED

U.S. Senator Tom Cotton was in El Dorado today, where he met with first responders, public safety personnel, emergency management officials, EMS professionals, and elected officials who responded to last week’s Pine Tree Road Fire near Lawson.

Senator Cotton thanked those who responded for their quick actions, diligent efforts, and long hours spent managing an incident that had the potential to become a much greater disaster.

We are especially thankful for ProMed EMS Supervisor Tom Wilson and DMART Coordinator John Burdue for their leadership and efforts in establishing and maintaining medical support throughout the incident. Their work helped ensure firefighters, emergency personnel, and others operating at the scene had immediate access to medical care when needed.

Large-scale incidents like this require tremendous coordination and teamwork across many agencies and disciplines. We are proud to have worked alongside so many dedicated professionals who came together to protect lives, property, and our communities.

Thank you, Senator Tom Cotton, for taking the time to visit El Dorado and recognize the men and women who answered the call.

LAWSON FIRE **UPDATE** - Saturday Ops Period 6a-6p

Medical teams are staged this period at the Command Post at Lawson Baptist Church. The Pine Tree fire is reported to be 80% contained with fire lines around the entire perimeter. Firefighters continue to monitor the lines watching for any spots where the fire may be threatening to jump the line. This evenings weather models indicate that winds after midnight could be 10-15 mph with gusts to 30 mph. This could create additional challenges overnight.
Residents along roads other than Pine Tree Rd have been allowed to return. Officials still caution to remain aware as conditions can change rapidly. If you do not live in the area, please to not come to the area. Law enforcement will ask you to leave as it hampers efforts of fire spotters, first responders, and fire fighters.
