El Dorado Hills Fire Department Stay informed on current community events, emergency notifications, and safety information. Any content posted to this site is subject to public disclosure.

This page is dedicated as a community service to El Dorado Hills and surrounding area residents. We are trained to handle calls in various disciplines such as: structure, wildland, and vehicle fires, advanced medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, rope rescue, hazardous materials management, animal rescue, public assistance, snake removal, water rescue, fire investigations, vehicle lockout, and many more. Each station is strategically placed in our community to be an integral part of the local area. We offer blood pressure checks, issue door-yard burn permits and offer station tours. All stations are designated as a Safe Place for children and adults that are in danger, as well as Safe Surrender for babies. In addition to emergency management, we take pride in being involved in multiple community events such as: the Every 15 Minutes Program, Toys for Tots and medical coverage at local football games. Every holiday season, our premier event known as the Santa Run brings Santa, Mrs. Claus and running elves to many neighborhoods collecting Toys for Tots and food for families in need, while spreading cheer and handing out candy canes. El Dorado Hills Fire Department Temporarily Relocates Engine 91 Due to Water Quality Concerns

has temporarily relocated Engine 91 in the Latrobe community as a precautionary measure following notification of elevated levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) detected in well water.

The temporary relocation of Engine 91 does not eliminate fire and emergency medical response to the Latrobe community. El Dorado Hills Fire Department personnel and apparatus remain available to respond from nearby Fire Station 87, located in the El Dorado Hills Business Park, as well as through the Department's normal regional mutual- and automatic-aid response system.

The Department will continue monitoring emergency response coverage in the Latrobe area throughout the temporary relocation.

The Department intends to install a water-treatment and filtration system specifically designed to reduce PFAS concentrations to appropriate levels before returning the station to normal occupancy.

Residents with questions about private-well testing, PFAS results, or treatment options should contact the appropriate environmental health or water-quality agency and use a qualified laboratory for PFAS testing.

For additional information regarding PFAS, please visit the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s PFAS information page:

🚨 Vehicle Extrication – 🚒

Today, El Dorado Hills Fire Department units responded to a vehicle incident after a vehicle unexpectedly rolled away from the driver.

The driver attempted to stop the moving vehicle and became pinned underneath it. Firefighters quickly assessed the scene, stabilized the vehicle, and began an extrication operation.

Engine 84, Battalion 85, Rescue 87, Truck 85, and Medic 85 worked together to safely extricate the patient from beneath the vehicle. The patient was then transported by Medic 85 to a local trauma center for further evaluation and treatment.

This incident is a good reminder that vehicles can move unexpectedly, even when we think they are secure. Always ensure your vehicle is properly placed in park, the parking brake is engaged, and never attempt to stop a moving vehicle with your body.

We’re proud of the coordinated work by our crews and the quick response that helped get the patient safely into the care of medical professionals.

Stay safe, El Dorado Hills. ❤️‍🚒

has sent out several personnel to different fires around the state this past week.

Engine 386 deployed with four firefighters along with our Training Captain as a Strike Team Leader Trainee to the MP-18 fire in Humboldt County. Two Chief Officers are also out of county in the Strike Team Leader and Liason Officer positions at the Timber and Talbot Fires.

During these deployments, there is no reduction in service to our community and all stations are fully staffed continuing to respond to emergency calls within our district.

would like to congratulate Firefighter/Paramedics Skylar Roper and Jack Reynoso on their successful completion of their probationary period.

Today, Fire Chief Lilienthal was able to give them their official letters and handshakes marking the end of their probation.

Over the last year, they have rotated to different stations and apparatus; completing quarterly testing to show their proficiency in their job roles. Well done and we look forward to many years of service in the department and for our community.
