Maximiliano Zapata is an accomplished and experienced educator who currently serves as Precinct Chair for the City of El Cenizo. Johnson Highschool, where he enjoyed being involved with the student body. He graduated 3rd in his class and was a member of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE), National Honor Society, Johnson Football Team and participated in multiple University Interschol

astic League (UIL) events. Maximiliano attended Texas A&M International University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. While completing his undergraduate degree, Maximiliano was a member of the University Honors Program where he completed a thesis and was awarded the opportunity to present at the Midwest Political Science Association Conference in Chicago, IL. Maximiliano also received a Master of Arts degree of History and Political Thought from TAMIU. During his graduate program, he was awarded the LBV Graduate Student Assistantship where he taught, graded, and researched for the Social Sciences Department. He is a strong believer that education is the greatest form of public service. In 2019, at the age of 23, Maximiliano ran and was elected as a City Commissioner for El Cenizo, Texas. During his time as Commissioner, he donated 100% of his salary and established a large-scale food pantry, weekly city cleanups, sponsored two youth soccer teams, and fought for government transparency. Maximiliano seeks to establish youth development programs, an academic fellowship and government transparency.
