Today marked an exciting milestone for the City of El Cajon as Engine 208 officially entered service. The brand-new engine adds nine new Fire Department positions and expands our ability to respond quickly and effectively across the community. We look forward to seeing Engine 208 and its crews serving El Cajon for years to come.

From patriotic banners lining Downtown El Cajon, to the enormous American flag proudly displayed at City Hall, to a new light projection feature illuminating City Hall at night, the City is coming together to honor the history, spirit, and future of our nation.

As America approaches this historic milestone, El Cajon is proud to celebrate the freedoms, opportunities, and community spirit that define our country. Last week, we recognized and thanked the dedicated Public Works professionals who help keep our community safe, clean, and running smoothly every day. Public Works crews are often the first to arrive and the last to leave, working behind the scenes to maintain streets, sewers, storm water channels, public facilities, City vehicles, and essential city services.
