Volunteers in Medicine - San Diego

Volunteers in Medicine - San Diego Founded in 2003, Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) is a free clinic in El Cajon serving those who cannot afford health insurance or medical care Thank you.

We operate by appointment only. Please call the clinic to schedule an appointment. This allows us to understand what your needs may be and pair you with a volunteer Healthcare Provider to meet those needs directly. Our volunteers work for us on an as needed basis and their schedules vary. Therefore, it is easiest for us to speak directly with you to ensure we find the best time and provider to assist you.

✨ Women in Healthcare at VIM ✨

This Women's Health Month, we are proud to recognize some of the incredible women helping make care possible at Volunteers in Medicine San Diego.

From governance and leadership to direct patient care, these women bring compassion, expertise, and a shared commitment to ensuring our community has access to quality healthcare services and support.

Today, we're honored to spotlight:

💙 Myra Ng, Board Secretary

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 🇺🇸

At Volunteers in Medicine, we are deeply grateful for those who served with courage, selflessness, and dedication. As we care for our patients and community each day, we are reminded that everyone deserves compassionate, quality care.

This Memorial Day, we remember the heroes who gave everything for our freedom and honor their legacy through service to others.

Because of the generous support of the Art Pratt Foundation, we’ve been able to make meaningful improvements to our clinic space with new furniture and equipment that help us better serve our patients and community.
These updates are more than just furniture—they help create a more welcoming, comfortable, and functional environment for the individuals who walk through our doors every day.
We are incredibly grateful for community partners who believe in accessible, compassionate healthcare.
Thank you, Art Pratt Foundation, for investing in our mission and the health of our community 💙

Your mental health deserves care, attention, and support, just like your physical health.

Our minds and bodies are closely connected, and when we experience stress, anxiety, grief, or burnout, it can impact our overall wellbeing. Prioritizing your mental wellbeing is an important part of staying healthy.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we want our community to know: asking for help is a sign of strength, and you never have to face things alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available.📞 Call or text 988 for free, confidential mental health and crisis support.

You matter. Your wellbeing matters. 🫶

Mental health is just as important as physical health, they are deeply connected.

Stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, and emotional exhaustion can affect every part of our wellbeing—including:
• Blood pressure
• Sleep
• Chronic conditions
• Energy levels
• Heart health
• Immune health
Taking care of your mind is part of taking care of your body.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to remind our community: you are not alone, and your mental wellbeing matters.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. Call or text 988 for immediate mental health support and crisis assistance.

You are never alone.
