What an incredible day at the Eglin Community Library!

Our CustomPet Portraits Workshops have proved to be super popular. As part of our 2026 Summer Reading Program, we're hosting three packed sessions today and tomorrow, one for kids/tweens, one solely for teens, and one for teens/adults. We have a FULL HOUSE at every single one!

It's absolutely amazing to see everyone of all skill levels bring their favorite animal companions to life with such vibrant, custom artwork. Thank you to everyone who registered, brought their creativity, and made these sessions so much fun! And we'll see those who registered for tonight's session, soon!

Our 2026 Summer Reading Kick-off was a huge success!

Today, 263 amazing community members joined us for pizza, sno cones, crafts, face painting, and tons of fun! A big congratulations to our 4 giveaway winners! They won coins, t-shirts, and a Squishmallow.

We want to send a huge shoutout to our stellar volunteers, Amn Nguyen, A1C Ninmo, and Amn Mooney. Thank you for stepping up and making this event run so smoothly! We couldn’t have done it without you.

OH MY GOSH!!! TOMORROW IS ALMOST HERE...

Registration for Eglin Community Library Summer Reading Program officially opens TOMORROW, Saturday, May 30th! Whether you’re a pre-reader, school age, teen, or an adult, there is a reading goal and a shot at winning some amazing prizes.

Giveaways begin at 10:15 and happens every 30 minutes until noon! Pizza will be ready by 10:30, and we're partying the ENTIRE morning!

Plant a Seed, Read! 2026 Summer Reading Program

A farm grows food to nourish our bodies, but a library grows ideas that nourish our minds! This summer, the Eglin Community Library is inviting readers of all ages to join us for a season of growth, discovery, and amazing rewards.

The 2026 Kick-Off Party
When: Saturday, May 30
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: Eglin Community Library (Bldg 843)

Goodie Bags: The first 100 sprouts through the door receive a legendary goodie bag! (Must be present to win).

Incentives Revealed: Our staff will be on hand to help you register and reveal this year’s incredible prizes and grand awards.

Cost: FREE
Eligibility: Open to all ages from 0-109, with base access
Registration: Online registration opens May 30
Timeline: 30 May to 25 July 2026

It’s Slime Time at the Eglin Community Library!

Ready to get a little messy in the name of science? Join us for our upcoming SRP Slime Lab!

Bring the kids out to experiment, mix, and create their very own gooey masterpieces. We’ll provide all the supplies, ingredients, and fun, and the best part? You don't have to clean up the mess at your house! 😉

This hands-on STEM activity is a perfect way to keep young minds engaged and having a blast this summer.

Calling all Teens! Want to get behind the scenes at the library?

Get ready to make a difference this summer! The Eglin Community Library is looking for awesome teen volunteers to join our Volunteen Program.

As a Volunteen, you'll get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the library and help our staff gear up for our biggest event of the year, the Summer Reading Program! REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY.

It’s a fantastic way to give back to the community, meet new friends, and earn valuable volunteer hours for school or college applications.
