This month our members participated in an intensive live fire training evolution designed to challenge, refine, and strengthen the skills we rely on when seconds count.
Crews worked through realistic fireground scenarios incorporating offensive fire attack, VEIS, Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC) operations, and a down firefighter rescue involving cardiac arrest. These high stress, hands on scenarios push our firefighters to operate with precision, teamwork, and confidence under pressure.
More often than not, our job as firefighters is to protect and rescue the public. This training, however, focused on the critical life saving measures required to rescue one of our own, because on the fireground, we rely on each other just as much as those we serve rely on us.
Training like this isn’t just about repetition, it’s about building instinct, sharpening decision making, and ensuring that when the call comes, our response is immediate, coordinated, and effective!
