September 11, 2001 changed our nation forever. Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of the firefighters, first responders, military members, and countless heroes who answered the call that day.

Today, Eglin Air Force Base Fire & Emergency Services remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice and honors the generations of first responders who continue to carry their legacy forward.

We remember the 343.
We remember every life lost.
We remember every hero who ran toward the danger.
And we will NEVER forget.

Eglin Fire Station 1 recently hosted a tour for the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), welcoming 100 attendees, including 79 children. The event featured interactive demonstrations, including the operation of fire streams, a meet-and-greet with Sparky the Fire Dog, and an exhibition of our Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles. Following the tour, fire and life safety educational materials were given to all participating families. It is with great pride we serve such an amazing community!

This weekend, we gathered for Chief Clayton’s 4th Annual Crawfish Boil. What has become a cherished tradition for our department once again brought together our members, families, and friends for great food, plenty of laughter, and outstanding fellowship. Events like these remind us that the bonds we share extend far beyond the workplace. Thank you to all who attended and everyone who helped make this year’s boil another memorable success!
