February 11th, 2026 — Alpha Company, 6th Ranger Training Battalion, conducted a Change of Command ceremony.

We thank CPT Filippo Lippi for his leadership and the standard he upheld, forging disciplined and resilient Ranger leaders.

The guidon now passes to CPT Troy Gingerich as he takes command and continues the mission of developing the next generation of lethal leaders.

Same standard. New commander.

Warmer weather right around the corner with that snakes and other reptiles will start being more active.
If you spend enough time in the woods and swamps, you learn real quick that not every snake is out to ruin your day—but you do need to know who you’re looking at. 🐍🌲
Quick ID tips that actually help:
• Head shape isn’t everything—many non-venomous snakes flatten their heads when stressed.
• Watch behavior: racers flee, rat snakes climb, cottonmouths often stand their ground.
• Look at the body: venomous snakes tend to be thicker and heavier for their length.
• Pupils & patterns can help up close—but distance and awareness are your best tools.

Bottom line: snakes are part of the terrain at Benning and Rudder. Know the difference, give them space, and keep moving. The best snake encounter is the one that ends with both of you going separate ways. 🐊🌾

Today marked the transition of responsibility from 1sg Hampton to 1sg Rodriguez. 1sg Hampton truly embodied his surroundings. As he remains nearby, we extend a warm welcome to the Rodriguez family in the HHC family.

Use the break to reset, reflect, and reload. Remind yourself why you’re here.
Come back hungry, focused, and unbreakable.
You earn your tab by making the sacrifices most people aren’t willing to make—while they’re still kicking back on leave, you’re already locked in with that renewed focus and drive.
