With the summer upon us, and with High School Graduations, Proms, social gatherings, and the like, impaired driving becomes even a higher risk. Be responsible and make wise choices for the safety of everyone.

Today, seniors at Egg Harbor Township High School witnessed a sobering reminder of the real-life consequences that can result from impaired driving.

As part of a mock crash demonstration, students watched as several of their classmates were portrayed as victims of a serious motor vehicle crash. The realistic scenario included students receiving treatment for moderate to serious injuries, one student being placed under arrest for driving under the influence, and the tragic loss of a life.

While the scene was only a simulation, the message was very real.

The dangerous realities that can follow a decision to drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol were on full display, providing students with an opportunity to see firsthand the devastating impact impaired driving can have on individuals, families, and an entire community.

Fortunately, this was only a warning—a carefully planned educational event held in advance of prom and graduation season through the cooperation of Egg Harbor Township High School, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, the New Jersey State Police, Fire and EMS personnel, and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

As our students celebrate these important milestones, we encourage everyone to make responsible choices:

✔️ Never drive impaired.

✔️ Plan for a safe ride home.

✔️ Look out for your friends.

✔️ Speak up if someone is about to make a dangerous decision.

One choice can change lives forever. Make it a safe one.

The annual Greek Festival is back! As our community gathers for food, music, and celebration from June 4th through June 7th, there are a couple of specific evenings you’ll want to prepare for—especially if you have furry family members.

📅 Firework Schedule
The festival will feature a spectacular firework display on the following nights:

Thursday, June 4th around 9:30pm

Sunday, June 7th around 9:30pm

The loud noises can startle local wildlife and neighborhood pets, so please plan ahead for these two evenings. Keep your pets inside and safely secure until the conclusion of the firework display. Let’s enjoy the festival while keeping our community's pets safe and stress-free!

The members of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department extends our prayers and unwavering support to the Atlantic City Police Department following today’s tragic incident in which two officers were shot in the line of duty while serving a warrant.

We are keeping the injured officers, their families, friends, and the entire ACPD family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, and today is a sobering reminder of the dangers they face in service to others. Stay strong ACPD — your brothers and sisters in blue stand with you.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department would like to remind all residents to take a few simple steps to help protect your vehicle and personal property.

We have recently received reports of vehicle burglaries involving unsecured vehicles throughout the community. In many cases, suspects are targeting vehicles that have been left unlocked overnight.

Please remember to:

• Lock your vehicle doors at all times
• Remove valuables, wallets, purses, and electronics from plain view
• Do not leave keys or key fobs inside your vehicle
• Park in well-lit areas whenever possible
• Report any suspicious activity immediately

A few seconds of prevention can help avoid becoming a victim. We appreciate the community’s continued partnership in helping keep Egg Harbor Township safe.

If you observe suspicious activity, contact the Egg Harbor Township Police Department immediately.

Yesterday, members of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department had an incredible time participating in “Co****le with Cops” at Co****le Craze alongside the students, staff, and families of Egg Harbor Township High School.

This event was about much more than a game. It was about connection, inclusion, and community. Through the amazing efforts of EHT Unified, we continue to see what is possible when we focus on Empowering Abilities and Unifying Hearts.

We are proud to serve a community that values acceptance, kindness, and opportunities for every student to shine. Events like this give our officers the chance to build meaningful relationships with our youth, share laughs, create memories, and strengthen the bonds that make Egg Harbor Township such a special place to live and work.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success, and thank you to the students who reminded us all that teamwork, positivity, and inclusion always win. ❤️🖤💙
