Join the 177th and many others in remembering D-Day on the 82nd anniversary.

During the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord, the troops were assisted by National Guard units in the air. Among the units flying missions were the 107th and 109th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadrons, with the Michigan and Minnesota National Guard, respectively.

This week, cadets and instructors from the Atlantic County Institute of Technology, AF JROTC visited the 177th Fighter Wing and got to see and learn a little bit about the operations and personnel with the New Jersey Air National Guard.

The group was given a mission brief, met and spoke with an F-16 pilot and several maintainers, received a brief demo on the aircrew flight equipment the pilots rely on to fly safely, met with 177th Firefighters, where they were able to interact with fire personnel and equipment, and met with NJ Air National Guard recruiters, to learn about some of the benefits they can earn while serving.

It was our pleasure having you visit our Wing. We hope you received some valuable information about what its like to serve in the greatest Air and Space Force on the planet!

A massive thank you from all of us at the 177th Fighter Wing to everyone who packed the beach and followed the action online for this year's Soar & Shore Airshow, with Luke Carrico, Air Show Announcer!

We were thrilled to share the skies with incredible performers like the Warbird Thunder Airshows , .B.CulbersonMiG-17 , U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II Demonstration Team , and the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team !

Our Jersey Devils had an incredible time helping to bring the ultimate display of air power right to the Atlantic City coastline.

Today, the 177th Security Forces Squadron hosted a Memorial Ruck and Final Guard Mount ceremony, to conclude Police Week 2026.

The Memorial Ruck honors the 14 Air Force Security Forces defenders who lost their lives in action, since the onset of the Global War on Terror. The Final Guard Mount is a time-honored tradition. During this solemn roll call, the names of the fallen are read, and silence is answered in their place.

"We all come together as Guardians who understand the weight of standing watch, while others sleep safely," said Col. Benjamin Robbins, commander of the 177th Fighter Wing. "The final guard mount is more than a ceremony. It's a solemn reminder that freedom requires men and women who are willing to stand on the line between order and chaos, even at a great personal cost."

Thank you, Defenders.

This week, Wildlife Biologists from USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, as part of a three-day FAA approved advanced airport training course, visited the 177th Fighter Wing and got to learn about one of the beneficiaries of their work of protecting aviation operations.

The group of 35 biologists, coordinators, supervisors, managers, and directors, who work with or on civil or military airfields across the U.S., met with the 177th FW deputy Wing commander, Col. Aaron Dunn, and then were given a mission brief by F-16 pilot and Wing Safety Officer, Capt. Joseph Pitts, before viewing an F-16C static display and a General Electric F110 afterburning turbofan engine display.

It was our pleasure having you visit our Wing. We truly appreciate what you do to help keep aviation safe!
