Initially focused on rebuilding the libraries & restoring holdings destroyed by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar in May 2008, we are now partnered with Myanmar Book Aid and Preservation Foundation and Beyond Access to improve holdings and internet access to global knowledge in community libraries throughout Myanmar.. Since 2015 Ooredoo Philanthropy has donated thousands of laptops & millions of kyats-wor

th of computer training for librarians and library users across Myanmar. This sustaining commitment enabled several million Burmese to access global knowledge until February, 2021 when the new regime of Bogyoke Min AUNG Hlaing blocked access to broadband for most citizens. Stay tuned as civilian opposition organizes to free libraries as well as civil liberties.
