Adventure Awaits Our 4th Graders! 🌲🦬

Did you know that all 4th graders receive free passes to national parks? 🎟️ To kick off their National Parks unit this month, our 4th graders had a special visit from Ranger Matt Whitney, who taught them all about the American bison!
Students got an up-close, hands-on learning experience as they explored real bison furs, bones, and even a bison bladder! What an exciting way to bring learning to life and spark curiosity about the amazing wildlife found in our national parks! 🇺🇸🏞️

A huge thank-you to Ranger Matt Whitney for sharing his knowledge and helping our students begin their national parks adventure! 💚

🎉🍎 HELP US CELEBRATE OUR TEACHER OF THE YEAR — JAMIE NEWELL! 🍎🎉

John Ross is beyond blessed and grateful to have Jamie Newell as a Pre-K teacher and even more grateful for the incredible person she is. Not only has she been named our Teacher of the Year, but earlier this year, she was also nominated as a Life Changer of the Year! And if you know Jamie, you know just how deserving she is of both honors. ✨

Jamie has a gift for creating a classroom that feels like family. She builds an inclusive, supportive environment where every child is loved, valued, encouraged, and celebrated for exactly who they are. She pours her whole heart into her students, and it shows in everything she does. The love, patience, compassion, and dedication she brings into her classroom each day are truly something special.

Jamie, you are one of a kind, and John Ross is a better place because of you. Thank you for loving your students so fiercely, for creating a classroom family where everyone belongs, and for being the extraordinary teacher and person that you are. Happy National Custodians Day! Today, we celebrated the amazing custodians who do so much behind the scenes to keep our school clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for learning each day! 💙

From keeping our classrooms sparkling to helping wherever they’re needed, we are so thankful for all that you do for our students and staff. Your hard work, care, and dedication make a difference every single day!

Last week, our 3rd Grade GATE students spent some time helping clean up our garden area! They worked hard gathering leaves and making sure they all found their way into our compost bins. ♻️🍃

We’re so thankful for these students who are always willing to lend a helping hand—and we’re definitely thankful for the cooler fall weather that made garden cleanup even more enjoyable! 🍁
