Lots of volunteers showed up this morning including 94 year old Laura to support the removal of the knotweed on the Greenway.

We started this project in just one area it would take approximately three years to eradicate the Japanese knotweed. Today was the first stage of removal. The stems and flowers cut off and were bagged and removed.
We will post more information about the process as we progress.
If you have Japanese knotweed on your property you can reach out to us we will be happy to help.

The volunteers got a hands on lesson about the removal process and most of them are returning for the second phase.
We are happy to be a part of this project with the Middlesex Parks. Many thanks to our Team- Robert Aluck, Madelyn Mateo, for their support and guidance. Thank you to Commissioner Charles Backmann, Walter Stochel from the Greenway Group/Open Space, Mark Hebzburg from Metuchen Environmental Commission,
and all the other teams of volunteers for their efforts today.
