City of Edison Public Notice: Level 1 Drought Response

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has issued a Statewide Level 1 Drought Response as of April 27, 2026.

While there are no major restrictions at this time, all residents and businesses are encouraged to be mindful of water use as drought conditions continue across Georgia. This is about awareness and doing our part as a community.

This effort is intended to keep our community informed about current drought conditions, how they impact our water supply, and the importance of water conservation.

Outdoor watering is still allowed daily between 4:00 PM and 10:00 AM.

The following activities are allowed at any time:
• Watering personal food gardens
• Watering newly planted grass, seed, or plants (up to 30 days after planting)
• Drip irrigation or use of soaker hoses
• Hand watering with a hose equipped with an automatic shutoff or by container

We encourage everyone to take simple steps at home to conserve water:
• Fix any leaking faucets or toilets
• Turn off the water while brushing your teeth or washing dishes
• Only run full loads in your washer and dishwasher
• Take shorter showers when possible
• Sweep driveways and sidewalks instead of using a hose
• Water lawns only when necessary and avoid overwatering

Small changes across our city can make a big impact. Let’s continue to work together and be good stewards of our water resources.
