On Sept. 11, 2001, ordinary Americans became eternal symbols of heroism. To the fearless first responders who charged into flames, the passengers who rose against evil, and the souls stolen too soon, your legacy is the bedrock of our nation’s resilience.

Their courage was not just in action, but in spirit: a refusal to let darkness define us. Today, we remember that America’s strength lies in its people — united, unyielding and unwavering.

Congratulations to the Hero of the Week Mr. Paul Harris AECW Public Affairs Specialist, USAG-PL PAO. Mr. Harris, just days into his deployment to USAG Poland, coordinated the media coverage of four Soldiers assigned to the 214th Military Police Company unit who saved a Polish man’s life at a KFC near Skwierzyna. Within hours he connected the heros with the V Corps PAO and Stars and Stripes to put out a positive story of the US presence in Poland. The story would also be picked up in the Polish media, including a semi-viral post with TVP World (English Speaking).
