Summer Art Camp 2026 โ Final Day: Africa & the USA ๐บ๐ธ
What an incredible journey it has been! Today marked the final day of our "Exploring the World, One Artwork at a Time" Summer Art Camp, and our young artists completed their travels with visits to Africa and the United States.
In the morning, students explored the rich artistic traditions of Africa by creating African-inspired masks. They learned how masks can communicate stories, traditions, and cultural identity through the use of color, pattern, texture, and symbolism. The creativity and craftsmanship displayed in these projects were truly impressive!
After our journey through Africa, we traveled back home to the United States, where students explored the bold and colorful world of Pop Art. Inspired by famous American Pop Artists, campers created vibrant drawings featuring bright colors, strong contrast, and imaginative interpretations.
Over the past four days, our artists traveled through France, Japan, Mexico, Africa, and the United States, exploring new cultures, learning about artists from around the world, and experimenting with a variety of art mediums including watercolor, Prismacolor, India ink, printmaking, mosaics, acrylic painting, and mixed media.
I am so proud of the creativity, curiosity, kindness, and enthusiasm these students brought to camp each day.
As our journey comes to an end, we hope our campers remember that art is a passport that can take them anywhere.
