The high school (9-12) is located in Edinburg. Valley-Edinburg is proud of its class sizes, well-maintained schools, state of the art technology, and a dedicated staff that cares about our students. The comm

unities are very proud of the schools and consider them a vital asset to the survival of the rural areas. Valley-Edinburg is a member of the Pembina County and Western Walsh Consortium and the Red River Valley Education Cooperative. The school system provides a Title I program and ESL. It’s been a busy week at summer camp! ☀️

From learning about and building volcanoes to learning about electromagnetic waves and making smores in their very own solar ovens - they’ve covered a lot!

Plus many more activites and field trips in between, it’s been a fun learning adventure!

🗳️ Reminder to Vote on June 9

Valley-Edinburg School District residents are reminded to vote in the upcoming Building Fund election on Tuesday, June 9.

The district currently levies 10 Building Fund mills. A "yes" vote would authorize the district to increase that authority to 20 mills, meaning an increase of 10 additional mills.

It is important to note that this vote provides the district with the authority to levy up to 20 mills. It does not require the district to levy the full amount each year. Future school boards will continue to determine the actual levy based on district needs.

Per ND Century Code, Building Fund dollars can only be used for facility improvements and major maintenance projects. Current and future needs across our three school buildings include:

🏫 Roof repairs and replacements
🏫 Window replacements for improved efficiency
🏫 Playground updates in Crystal and Hoople
🏫 Safety and security entrance improvements
🏫 Locker room renovations in Edinburg and Crystal
🏫 Flooring replacements and other facility upgrades

Thank you for taking the time to vote on June 9 and for your continued support of Valley-Edinburg School District.

For the first time in history, the Positive Athlete organization is recognizing local high school athletes from across the Dakotas Market as high-character kids who have been nominated and confirmed by their schools as the most representative of “How Positive Athletes O.P.E.R.A.T.E.”.

Optimistic
Puts Team First
Encouraging
Respectful
Admits Imperfections
True Heart for Others
Embraces Service

This year, Positive Athlete is naming 7 different North Dakota and South Dakota high schoolers as the “Most Positive” male and female student-athletes across the market, while also recognizing one athletic director as “Most Positive”. The 7 theme stems from the number of attributes called out above. Nominations were submitted market-wide from coaches, athletic directors, athletic trainers, principals, teachers, guidance counselors, and parents, representing both public and private high schools and across a wide variety of sports. The Dakotas awards are part of the national expansion of Positive Athlete, which was created by sports industry veteran Scott Pederson in the early 2010’s as a movement for more positivity in youth sports. In addition to excellence on the field, each nominated Positive Athlete was required to show the above characteristics in order to be nominated.

We are proud that graduating senior Elizabeth Fedje was chosen as one of the first recipients!
