The Edinburg Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce that effective tomorrow, January 1, 2026 our station will have a dedicated Ambulance Crew staffed by SCFR 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week.

For nearly 100 years, the local volunteers of Edinburg have responded to help our neighbors in need, and this service will continue to be provided to our high standard. This additional crew will help to supplement our dedicated members.

Providing the best possible service and care will always be our top priority, and our partners at SCFR will only further support our mission.

We are always looking for new volunteers to support our community, and all who wish to support are welcome to stop by our station for additional information.

We would like to thank Mike at Valley Garage Door for installing our new station doors. The full row of windows really improves the front of the station, especially at night!

We want to take the time to recognize many Organizations as well as individuals who have donated significant funds and support to our organization. This past September the Edinburg Volunteer Fire Company hosted a Grain Bin Safety Training. Many local fire fighters attended this training and learned new skills that can be utilized during Agricultural Emergencies. By using a state-of-the-art grain entrapment simulator, rescuers were able to personally experience both sides of a grain rescue.

This training is part of a program coordinated by the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety, and Nationwide Insurance. Our specific class and equipment for the session was sponsored by Horizon Farm Credit in coordination with the Shenandoah County Farm Bureau. Horizon Farm Credit donated over $6,000, and the Shenandoah Farm Bureau donated over $3,400 worth of equipment necessary for these types of rescues. Additionally, Jason Bushong also donated $500 to make this event possible.

High grade, professional training comes at a cost measured in the thousands of dollars. We are extremely grateful that our local community is willing to invest in our first responders. As a rural Fire Company, our community is at risk for different types of emergencies than large metropolitan areas. Our members, and members of other local departments, benefited greatly from this specialized training that targets the safety of our local farmers.

The station is busy getting everything ready. We hope to see you shortly. Everything looks delicious!
