It was an honor and privilege to be part of the naming ceremony for the Judge Ramon Garcia Law Library, dedicated in honor of former Hidalgo County Judge Ramon Garcia. His lifelong commitment to public service, leadership, and the people of Hidalgo County leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and impact generations to come.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Garcia family, as well as Judge Cortez and his office, for allowing us to be part of this meaningful and monumental occasion. It was a privilege to join in celebrating and honoring a legacy that will be remembered for generations.

The celebrations continue for Community Action Month! 🍕 Today we celebrated National Pizza Party Day with a fun staff pizza luncheon, and our amazing Holiday Committee absolutely delivered!

As we recognize Community Action Month, we’re also taking time to celebrate the incredible people behind the work. Thank you to our Holiday Committee for creating moments that bring our team together and remind us that while serving our community is important, celebrating one another is too. Great food, great company, and great people made for a great day!

Our outreach event in Heidelberg was a tremendous success! We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with our more remote communities and ensure residents have access to the services and resources available to them. Reaching people where they are is at the heart of our mission, and it was wonderful to see the community come together.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Hidalgo County Office of Emergency Management, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office – Crime Prevention Unit, Hidalgo County Precinct 1, Hidalgo County Constables Office Pct. 1, Mercedes Fire Department, Mercedes Police Department, and of course our incredible staff. Your partnership, support, and dedication helped make this event possible, and we truly appreciate your commitment to serving our communities.

🚨 CSA is on the ground in Heidelberg this week accepting Utility Assistance applications for Heidelberg residents and those in the immediately surrounding areas!

If you or someone you know lives nearby, stop by Heidelberg Park to complete and submit a 2026 Utility Assistance application. This outreach event is designed to assist individuals who may not be able to visit our office in person.

📢 Important Notice to Our Community

The Hidalgo County Community Service Agency will be participating in an off-site professional training May 12–14, 2026, as we continue working to strengthen and improve the services we provide to our community.

During this time, office operations will be limited. A small team will remain available to assist with urgent needs; however, we will not be accepting our regular 50 applications per day during these dates. The office will instead accept a limited number of five disconnections per day only.

Regular business operations will fully resume on Monday, May 18, 2026.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work to better serve the families in our community. 💙

📢 Aviso Importante para Nuestra Comunidad

La Agencia de Servicios Comunitarios del Condado Hidalgo participará en una capacitación profesional fuera de las instalaciones del 12 al 14 de mayo de 2026, mientras continuamos trabajando para fortalecer y mejorar los servicios que brindamos a nuestra comunidad.

Durante este tiempo, las operaciones de la oficina serán limitadas.
