Exploiting juveniles. Endangering lives. Facing the consequences.

A human smuggling coordinator who recruited and used juveniles as drivers has been sentenced to 360 months in federal prison. One of the smuggling attempts he coordinated resulted in three deaths, including a juvenile driver.

This sentence sends a clear message: those who profit from exploiting vulnerable people and placing lives at risk will be held accountable.

We commend the relentless work of our agents and law enforcement partners who helped ensure justice was served. We remain united, vigilant, and committed to protecting our communities.

Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean our K9s can't smell it.

A smuggler thought that he could sneak a load of co***ne through the Javier Vega Jr. checkpoint, but our K9 on duty sniffed it out and alerted agents to the narcotics concealed within the vehicle. Seizures like this demonstrate the critical role checkpoint operations play in protecting our nation.
