Situated immediately southwest of Minneapolis in Hennepin County, Minnesota, Edina has a population of 53,494. It is a first-ring suburb known for its shopping and dining, its parks and recreational facilities and the excellent quality of life for residents. Edina is just a few minutes’ drive from downtown Minneapolis and easily reachable from multiple highways and freeways. The City is conveniently divided into four sections by Minnesota State Highways 62 and 100. Metro Transit offers bus service to parts of Edina.

🚧 Edina Road Closure Update: 🚧

France Avenue in southeast Edina will close to thru traffic in both directions between West 69th and West 76th streets beginning 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, for sewer work associated with the West 72nd Street improvements project.

The closure is expected to last three weeks.

🚗 Drivers should use York Avenue to travel around the closure. France Avenue will remain open for access to businesses and residences within the work area up to the fully closed section between Hazelton Road and Gallagher Drive.

This year’s work replaces and upsizes the portion of the South Trunk sanitary sewer beneath West 72nd Street to increase capacity and ensure long-term service reliability. During the closure, crews will reconnect the newly reconstructed portion of trunk sewer to the existing sewer system at France Avenue.
