It is with sadness that I share with you the Genesis House of Northeast Missouri has closed its doors.
The Director/HouseParent have moved out of the home and out of Edina. The home has been purchased and we pray that it’s future will continue to be a very meaningful & purposeful one.
We as past Board Members are proud of the efforts and successes Genesis House has had in assisting young women during a difficult time in each of their lives. We believe that the ministry was successful and appreciate all who had a hand in these successes.
The young women who said yes and took that chance to make a positive difference in their and their unborn babies life; the houseparents who lived with these women and welcomed them into their families, and the many volunteers who gave of their time & talents in so many ways (home renovations, respite houseparents, donations, transportation, home repairs, yard work, fundraisers, Board Members, etc.) all together made this a valuable and Christ driven ministry.
While we are sad it has closed, we know it was worth every effort put forth in the name of Our Father, the Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Then, join us for Sunday lunch in the 4H pavilion at 11:30. IDK Cafe’ is serving up their amazing fried chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans, corn casserole, and biscuits...plus dessert and drink...for $8 (adults)/$5 (kids).

Nehemiah rebuilt the gates and walls of Jerusalem. Without walls, the Israelites were without peace and security. Without the protective city walls, their city and lives were vulnerable to attack and lacking provision. Gates, were necessary for the coming and going of life. They were meeting places, where community gathered to share thoughts and ideas.

God calls us to repair the breach, to bind up the broken-hearted, and to guard against the enemy’s attack. God’s plan for rebuilding promises salvation and a God who will be our everlasting source. Within secure walls we can live life wholeheartedly, reflecting and glorifying our Creator, Savior, and Lord.

Starting in our own soul we, “love God, get healthy, be whole, and love others. This is God’s way.
