Criminals are using AI to pretend they are one of your family members in distress or in danger. Make sure, before you send anyone money, to check with the family member or call your local police department. Remember, money sent via Bitcoin, gift cards, Venmo or Zelle, it is almost impossible to recover.

With warmer weather here, we’re seeing more motorized scooters out, and that means it’s time for a quick reset on safety.

Small decisions like staying alert, yielding to pedestrians, and keeping both hands on the handlebars make a big difference for your safety and everyone around you.

The Edgewood Police Department also reminds parents and guardians that if your child is riding a scooter, you are responsible for making sure they understand and follow local laws and ordinances.

Before you ride, take a few minutes to review City of Edgewood ordinances related to motorized scooter operation in Chapter 73:

Ride smart. Stay alert. Get where you’re going safely.

Good afternoon Edgewood,

Sgt. Buchanan here. We had a call about people claiming to be Edgewood Police over the phone. The suspect person claimed to be an officer and said that the person/victim had a fine and needed to pay over the phone or face criminal action.

Edgewood Police will never ask you for any money to pay a fine. Even if they claim to be an active Officer that you know.

If you have a concern call the kenton county dispatch and ask to speak to an Edgewood officer at 859-356-3191.
When in doubt, just give us call and we can help you.
