6/27/24 Bacteria Results!

We had 4 sites fail this week. Remember that bacteria conditions can increase after rain events ⛈. Have a great weekend and see you at River Days at Smithsonian Environmental Research Center tomorrow!

⚠️This is a test for enterococcus, an indicator of E. coli. Samples are collected Thursday mornings and processed by Anne Arundel Community College. Please note that bacteria levels can increase after major rain events. Arundel Rivers follows EPA guidelines and the recommended threshold of 104cfu/100ml for recreational swimming. Please remember the golden rules of swimming:
🌩Don't swim after a major rain event
🤕Don't swim with any open cuts or wounds

Improvements coming soon for Annapolis City dock!! 👍😁

🌊 Exciting news! 🎉 The City Dock Park and flood resiliency project got the green light from the Annapolis Historic Preservation Commission! 💪 This $71 million proposal is set to transform the area, with construction expected to kick off in November pending a $32 million grant from FEMA. 🚧 The ambitious redevelopment will transform the pay-to-park zone from Craig Street to Susan Campbell Park into a raised earthen berm designed to combat flooding. 🌊 Additions such as a fountain, pergola, and stage will enhance the park’s appeal 🌳 🚧 🏞️
