Road Closure Notice
Intersection Closure: W. 25th Ave. & Kendall St.

Beginning Monday, September 14, the intersection of W. 25th Avenue and Kendall Street will be closed to traffic for sidewalk and street construction. The work includes curb ramp replacements, sidewalk improvements, and alley crossing work. The closure is expected to last approximately one week. Please plan alternate routes during this time.

On January 24, 2026, an Edgewater Police Officer was involved in a fatal shooting of an armed suspect. The District Attorney's Office conducted a comprehensive review of the investigation into the officer involved shooting and determined that the officer's use of deadly force was reasonably justified. The Edgewater Police Department would like to recognize the work of the numerous investigators, crime scene personnel, and others who conducted the investigation as part of the First Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). All officer involved shootings in the county are investigated by CIRT, and officers from the involved agency do not take part in the investigation. We also appreciate the comprehensive review by the District Attorney's Office.

As Edgewater celebrates our 125th anniversary, we remember a historic event with connections to Edgewater.

Wednesday, August 26th marks the 62nd anniversary of the Beatles playing Red Rocks Amphitheater. At the time Beatlemania was sweeping the nation, including on KIMN radio, which broadcast from Edgewater from the mid 1950s into the 1980s. KIMN was a top rated radio station.

Edgewater’s KIMN presented the Beatles at Red Rocks on August 26th, 1964. Edgewater residents went to the show, and at least one worked the show. The late Al Schuppert started working concessions at the show and was moved to front of stage security.

In honor of our connection with the historic event, Wednesday, August 26th has been declared “Edgewater’s KIMN presents the Beatles at Red Rocks Day” in Edgewater!
