We're 19 days away from our America 250 Celebration in Edgerton! We've got more planned than ever before. From a pancake breakfast to the live bald eagle demonstration to the best fireworks show in the region, this July 3rd is going to be extra awesome!

In honor of the County's 250th Birthday, you can pick up some merch that celebrates your hometown pride. We've got t-shirts, cups, bald eagle stuffies and a whole lot more available for sale at The Greenspace from now through July 3rd. We're also honoring our veterans with a yard sign display. If you'd like to purchase a yard sign with your veteran's picture on it (or any of the other items), click the link below. Sign orders are due June 19.

Heads up! We're working on a water system mapping project next week, beginning Monday, June 15. You might see workers in your yard or along the street looking for water meters or valves. There will be no service disruptions during this work. Work is weather-dependent.

The Edgerton City Council meets tonight. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. If you wish to make public comments at the meeting, you must sign up before the meeting begins. The Edgerton Planning Commission meets tonight (Tuesday, June 9) in City Hall. Commissioners will be considering a final site plan for DAMAC Digital. This item was tabled at the May meeting after Commissioners requested more information about the project. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Hey Edgerton, we need your help. We've had new vandalism at Glendell Acres Park. This time, someone took a lighter or something hot and burned a hole in the top of the slide and then stabbed it repeatedly. The damage occurred either late Wednesday (6/3) or early Thursday (6/4) last week.

We would appreciate the community's help to find the vandals. Please contact the Johnson County, KS Sheriff's Office if you have any information. Reference Case #26002055.

In the meantime, the slide itself is still safe to use. There wasn't any damage to the structural integrity, but it can't be fixed without replacing the whole slide.
