PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS POST-WHAT A GREAT WAY TO RAISE SOME MONEY FOR EDUCATION IN CHOWAN COUNTY!

We are SO appreciative to be included as a partner for Belk’s annual Charity Giveaway Sale!

Here’s how it works:
1) Buy a $5 coupon from one of our Board Members (DM us if you don’t have one in your contacts) today through Friday, JUNE 4, 2026.

2) Go shopping at Belk’s this weekend. Get your $5 back in the first purchase, then 25% off of the rest of your purchases!
3) All proceeds go to charities (meaning money goes back into education in Chowan County)!

Pssss…… you can even pre-choose your items and they will hold them for you until the weekend!!

Two of our Board Members, Victoria Winslow and Kelly O’Hara will be at Belk this evening from 5-7 pm, should you want to stop by and buy tickets then!

Not sure if you know someone on the ECEF Board? Here is a list: https://sites.google.com/ecps.k12.nc.us/ecef/about-us?authuser=0

This morning’s flag raising ceremony was a special moment for John A. Holmes High School and a beautiful reminder of unity, school spirit, and what it means to come together as a school community.💙💛

A heartfelt thank you to our local American Legion for their generous donation and to the Edenton-Education Foundation for helping set the stage for our beautiful flag with commemorative bricks. 🇺🇸

Third win for today!!! New signage on the Team WOW playground to improve communication for our non-verbal students! We love helping our students thrive both in the classroom and on the playground!

🐾🐝Team WOW is growing in BIG ways!

We are so excited to share that our exceptional children’s department has received a new communication board for our playground! This resource will support our nonverbal students in communicating with their peers during recess, helping them express their thoughts, needs, and ideas in a meaningful way. It can even help our verbal students communicate when they can’t think of the words they need!

At our school, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to connect, play, and be heard. This communication board is one more step toward creating a more inclusive environment where all students can fully participate and build friendships.

Special thank you to the Edenton-Chowan Education Foundation for the grant to make this all possible.

We can’t wait to see the smiles, conversations, and connections this brings to our playground! 🐾🐝

Double YES day! First stop at Chowan/Perquimans Smart Start to provide funding for their Reach Out and Read Early Literacy program. Foundational reading skills start well before Kindergarten and we are thankful to be supporting our local community to provide books for children ages 6 months to 5 years! Remember, it’s never too early to read to your children.

Thank you to the Edenton-Chowan Educational Foundation for supporting our Reach Out and Read Program with $2,500 in funding! Chowan/Perquimans Smart Start partners with ECU Health Chowan Pediatrics, ECU Health Multispecialty Clinic, and ENC Peds to provide this amazing program where every child is given an age-appropriate book at their well-child visit starting at birth and parents are given a "Prescription" to read to their child every day! Pictured are Brooke Rich, Executive Director, Edenton-Chowan Educational Foundation and Susan Nixon, Executive Director, Chowan/Perquimans Smart Start Partnership. We truly appreciate your support of early education in our community!

Well, never say never, my friends.

We really thought the last order of bricks would be our last order, but since the bricks were installed at the new John A. Holmes, so many people have approached us about buying a brick that we have decided to give everyone another opportunity. SO, if you would like to purchase a personalized brick to be installed at the bottom of the flagpole, here is your chance! We won't say we will never do this again, because there is only so much space there, but we are offering this chance until April 30. You can use this form or visit our website and download a pdf there.

*Please note that we are only offering the standard 4x8 size bricks.

*Please DO NOT WAIT. Forms and payment are due April 30.

We appreciate all who have supported the ECEF, so that we can support education in Chowan County!
