The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District is a special purpose unit of government established in accordance with Minnesota State Statute 103D. The responsibility of the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District is to protect and manage the water resources within the District’s legal boundaries. The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District is approximately 50 square miles in surface area and encompasses the land area tributary to Nine Mile Creek. The District is located in Hennepin County. Portions of the cities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Richfield are located within the Nine Mile Creek watershed. The activities of the District are managed by the Board of Managers. There are five board members who are appointed by the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners to three year staggered terms. The managers must live within the legal boundaries of the District. The District Board of Managers meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the District office located at 12800 Gerard Dr, Eden Prairie, 55346. Meetings are open to the public.
