π 2025-26 Lyon County Athletics Year in Review π
Wow, what an incredible year it has been for Lyon County Athletics! As we look back on the 2025-26 school year, we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments, hard work, and dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and supporters.

AUGUST
We officially kicked off the 2025-26 athletic season with our Fall Sports Media Day on August 8th, bringing excitement and energy for another great year of Lyon County athletics.
β³ Our golf program got off to a tremendous start as Carson Collins, Cooper Collins, Jenna Coursey, and Brenna Breitrick all qualified for the All βAβ State Golf Tournament, representing Lyon County with pride and excellence.
β½ The Lady Lyons soccer program also celebrated a milestone moment as Coach McKenzie Melton collected her first career win as head coach.

SEPTEMBER
We hosted a special 9/11 Tribute Night at Lee S. Jones Park, honoring and remembering those impacted while bringing our community together in a meaningful way.
β³ Brenna Breitrick shot a 91 at the Regional Tournament to qualify for the KHSAA State Golf Tournament.
β³ Cooper Collins also earned a trip to the KHSAA State Golf Tournament after shooting an 83 at the Regional Tournament.
π₯ Our Lyon County Middle School softball team had an outstanding postseason run, finishing runner-up in the Middle School State Tournament.

OCTOBER
π The elementary gym received a beautiful new floor, adding another exciting upgrade to our athletic facilities.
β½ Lyons soccer finished runner-up in the district tournament.
π Our student-athletes enjoyed a special evening at Kuttawa First Baptist Church during their annual βLove Lyon Night,β where they were celebrated and encouraged by our community.

NOVEMBER
π£ Lyon County Cheer earned a Regional Runner-Up finish and qualified for the KHSAA State Cheer Competition.
π We proudly celebrated the ring ceremony for our 2025 All βAβ Classic State Champion Baseball Team, recognizing an unforgettable championship season.

DECEMBER
π The Lady Lyons basketball program celebrated a special milestone as Coach Ricky Baker earned his first win as head coach.
π Our future Lady Lyons continued their success as both the 7th grade and 8th grade girls' basketball teams captured district championships.
π₯ The 7th grade and 8th grade Lyons basketball teams both battled their way to district runner-up finishes.
π The Lady Lyons basketball team added holiday hardware to the trophy case by winning the Kelly Holiday Classic.

JANUARY
π£ Lyon County Cheer competed at the KHSAA State Cheer Competition and delivered their best performance of the season on the state stage.
π The Lady Lyons basketball team captured the All βAβ Regional Championship.
π The Lyons basketball team also claimed the All βAβ Regional Championship, making it a special season for both programs.
π₯ Courtney Collins reached an incredible milestone by scoring her 1,000th career point.
π₯ Nolan Coffman also joined the 1,000-point club, cementing his place in Lyon County basketball history.

FEBRUARY
π The Lyons basketball team brought home the All βAβ Classic State Championship, adding another historic title to Lyon County athletics!
πΉ Our archery team finished runner-up in the All βAβ Regional Tournament and qualified for the All βAβ Classic State Tournament.
πͺ Courtney Collins reached yet another incredible milestone by collecting her 1,000th career rebound.
π₯ Bray Kirk joined elite company by scoring his 2,000th career point.
π₯ Piper Cotham also reached the remarkable 2,000-point milestone during an outstanding career.
π The Lady Lyons basketball team set a new school record with 23 wins in a season and continued building on that mark, finishing the year with 25 victories.

Bray Kirk was named the Region 2 KABC Boys' Basketball Player of the Year.

Coach Ricky Baker was honored as the Region 2 KABC Girls' Basketball Coach of the Year.
π₯ The Lady Lyons basketball team finished as district runner-up after an outstanding regular season.
π The Lyons basketball team captured the district championship and continued their postseason run.

MARCH
π The Lyons basketball team won the 2nd Region Tournament and advanced to the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen at Rupp Arena, creating memories that Lyon County will never forget!
βΎ The Lyons baseball program celebrated a new beginning as Coach Tony Belt collected his first win as head coach.

APRIL
β Nolan Coffman was recognized as one of the stateβs top players by being named to the Kentucky Junior All-Stars.
β½ Our middle school girlsβ and boysβ soccer teams both battled their way to district runner-up finishes.
β½ Josh Frady was named the new head coach of the Lyon County boysβ soccer program.
π₯ Olivia Moore recorded her 100th career hit as a Lady Lyon, adding her name to another impressive milestone list.

MAY
π₯ The Lady Lyons softball team finished as district runner-up after a strong postseason run.
π₯ Courtney Collins added another incredible accomplishment to her career by recording her 200th career hit.
π₯ Jaylen Tackett reached the remarkable milestone of 250 career hits.
π The Lyons baseball team captured the district championship, continuing another successful spring for Lyon County athletics.
π Unified track athlete Joseph Kingston and partner Jacob Townsend qualified for the KHSAA State Track Meet in shot put.
π Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community sponsors, ALL Lyon County students will receive FREE admission to ALL Lyon County athletic events during the 2026-2027 school year.
