[12:09 PM CDT Tuesday, April 2] Heads up! Another Tornado Watch has been issued parts of southeast Missouri, much of southern Illinois, all of western Kentucky, and all of southwest Indiana. This will be in effect until 6 PM CDT tonight. Now is the time to stay weather aware and have multiple ways to get weather warnings!

On 02/07/2024 Eddyville Police Department received a call about a possible human bone on the lakeshore in the area of Old Eddyville. The Eddyville Police Department and Lyon County Coroner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation and determined.......it was a very old deer bone. We are posting this to quell any rumors of human remains being found and to let everyone know that we truly appreciate our citizens keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.

Accumulating snowfall is expected to begin tomorrow afternoon and last through Monday for portions of the area. Amounts up to around 3 inches are possible, especially across the more southern areas. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect 12 pm Sunday to 6 pm Monday.

Use caution when attempting to heat your home some heating devices can put off carbon monoxide that can lead to sickness or death.

Good evening everyone, as many of you are aware we have multiple types of weather that will be arriving in our area beginning later tonight. Tomorrow will bring rain and damaging winds throughout the day that will lead into a prolonged dangerous cold event as well as the potential for measurable snow over the coming days. Please take the time to make sure you and your loved ones are prepared for the multiple types of weather that will impact our area.

Things to consider will be in the event of power outages or roadways being impacted, ways to remain warm, as well as necessary items such as medication, food and water.

In the event we receive inclement weather please do not be out driving around unless absolutely necessary. This hinders responders attempting to get to other individuals in need during an emergency.

UPDATE: Mrs. Patton has been found safe! The family will update when available. Thank you to everyone in the community for sharing our post and assisting with locating Mrs. Patton.

The Eddyville Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance with
locating a missing adult female.
Amber Patton (38), of Eddyville, is described as a white female, with
blonde hair and blue eyes, standing approximately 5’8” tall, and weighing
250 lbs.
She was last seen in Lyon County on December 6, 2023, around
10:25am, driving a white 2015 Nissan Pathfinder with Kentucky license
plate D0S325. Mrs. Patton is known to frequent Lyon, Livingston, and
McCracken Counties.
If you have any information or have seen this person or her vehicle,
please contact the Eddyville Police Department at (270) 388-2287 or (270)
388-0911.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office,
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, and Lyon
County Emergency Management are assisting the Eddyville Police
Department with this investigation.

As some of you have probably already heard, we had some vandalism occur at the city park recently. We believe it may have occurred sometime Friday night. If you have any information please contact us at the Eddyville Police Department. This matter is currently under investigation.

***UPDATE***
As most of you are aware, we experienced a string of thefts early this week. The investigation is ongoing but at this time we do not believe that the suspects who carried out these crimes are from our county. We ask that everyone keeps an extra eye out and most importantly PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE lock your doors, lock your vehicles, and don't store valuable items in your cars. Again, we are asking anyone who has any information especially security camera footage to contact the Eddyville PD if you haven't already. Also, if your vehicle was broken into, even if nothing was taken, please contact us.
