So let me tell you what team work is…….

A semi tractor trailer has rear wheels on fire on the tractor. A truck driver, a volunteer firefighter, 2 sheriffs deputy, a police chief, a CVE officer, an ambulance crew, and a city maintenance worker, use three 2.5 gal water/foam extinguishers, 6 ABC extinguishers, and a cooler with 17 bottles of water and the water from the melted ice in the cooler, to suppress and almost extinguish the fire until a fire engine can get on scene. Semi saved as well as an entire trailer full of computer servers and AI equipment as well. Thanks to Eddyville & Kuttawa Fire, Lyon SO, Eddyville PD, Lyon EMS, KSP CVE, & Kuttawa Maintenance Dept. JOB WELL DONE!!!

During Telecommunicators Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank the incredible dispatchers who serve as the lifeline of emergency response.

To our dispatchers; thank you for the calm voices on the other end of the line during chaos, for the quick decisions made behind the scenes, and for the dedication it takes to keep our firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement safe every single day.

You are often the FIRST first responders, and your role is critical in every call we run. We may not always see you, but we feel your impact on every call, and every outcome.

From all of us at Eddyville Fire Department, thank you for your professionalism, your compassion, and your commitment to this community. We appreciate you more than words can express.
