Today, Lieutenant Lyles and Chief Head conducted a follow-up investigation in Tallassee. Following their official business, they stopped for lunch and met an amazing woman, Ms. Pat, who is 89 years old. They thoroughly enjoyed their lunch together, appreciating the conversation and laughter they shared. Before departing, Chief and Lieutenant received a heartfelt hug from Ms. Pat, who expressed her gratitude for their company. In her words, “moments like this do not happen often as they should, but I thank you both for the moment we shared today.” Community engagement is important to us; thank you for the moment we shared today, and we wish the man above to continue to bless you each and everyday.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the Eclectic Police Department will be conducting Driver License / Safety Checkpoints to help ensure the safety of everyone traveling throughout our community. Increased traffic during the holiday weekend often leads to increase of impaired driving, speeding, and other traffic violations.

Our goal is to encourage safe and responsible driving while helping prevent accidents and injuries on our roadways. We ask all motorists to please obey traffic laws, avoid impaired driving, wear seatbelts, and remain attentive behind the wheel.

We hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable, and memorable Memorial Day weekend with family and friends. Thank you for helping us keep our roads safe.

A traffic ticket scam is currently circulating, and we urge you not to fall victim to their tactics. In the State of Alabama, we do not have a St. Louis Municipal Court. If you received a uniform citation, you would be required to pay the ticket to that Alabama Law Enforcement Agency that issued the citation, not in Missouri. Please share this information with your loved ones to help prevent them from being scammed.

Good morning citizens of Eclectic, following the severe weather that passed through, the EPD patrolled all main entry points into the town to ensure the roads were safe. There is minor debris throughout the town. Fortunately, there was no major damage, and we are grateful for this outcome. God Bless and safe travels.

The US National Weather Service Birmingham Alabama has placed our area under a Level 3 of 5 risk for severe weather tonight, including damaging winds up to 70 mph, quarter-size hail, and tornadoes.

Because these storms are expected to move through overnight, make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings and a way to wake up if alerts are issued while you are asleep. Have a safety plan in place.

If Elmore County is placed under a Tornado Watch, Elmore County EMA will activate Safer Places as locations confirm they can open. Updates will be posted on the EMA map and social media.
