Eau Claire Area HMAA The Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association, Inc.

(ECAHMAA) was established in 1982 and incorporated in 1984 as a non-profit organization to provide services to Hmong refugees. Since the start of the ECAHMAA, the Hmong population has grown to be the largest minority population in Chippewa, Eau Claire and Dunn Counties, representing over three percent of the total population. We have been serving the Hmong community in many ways and are uniquely q

ualified to provide services to that community. Our mission is to empower people, advance cultures, and enhance the quality of life for Chippewa Valley low-income families. We strive to assist our communities and our cultures to become socially, educationally and economically empowered by: promoting leadership and educational advancement, enhancing economic development and self-sufficiency, strengthening the health and well-being of families, and promoting and preserving traditional culture, customs and rituals. The agency has been recognized by the Wisconsin United Coalition of Mutual Assistance Associations, Inc. multiple times for our accomplishments on behalf of the Southeast Asian refugees and former refugees providing outstanding advocacy, social services and economic advancement and quality services resulting in the enrichment of the lives of refugees and former refugees in the Greater Chippewa Valley.
