This scam has made its way back around. We are receving reports from people that they've received a phone call from someone claiming to be from our agency. Be aware!

We are once again receiving reports of scam attempts where the scammer calls, identifies themselves as a member of a local law enforcement agency, and seeks payment via PayPal, wire transfers, gift cards, etc, to clear up a civil or criminal matter. Unfortunately, some have fallen victim over the past couple of days.

As a reminder, we will never call you and ask for money over the phone. This is ALWAYS a scam. If you are ever unsure, you can call your local law enforcement agency directly via their published phone number to inquire. Do not call the number that the scammer gives you.

🚨 LOST TRAIL CAMERAS 🚨

Today, 5/20/26 at approximately 1:30 pm, a citizen contacted the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office to report that an unknown-style pickup truck, traveling with its tailgate down, lost three high-end trail cameras from the bed of the truck near the intersection of London Rd and Sessions Ct in the Township of Washington.

The cameras contain unique owner-applied identification numbers that only the rightful owners would know.

If you believe these cameras belong to you, please be prepared to adequately describe the cameras and provide identifying information when contacting us.

To claim the cameras, please contact:

📞 Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office: 715-839-4709

Today, we had the honor of attending the Northwest Wisconsin Regional Law Enforcement Memorial.

This memorial stands as a solemn reminder of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. Their dedication, courage, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Following the memorial, members of our agency traveled to area cemeteries to honor those from our own department who lost their lives in the line of duty. We took time to reflect, remember, and pay our respects to the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others.

We pause not only to remember the fallen, but also to support the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward each day.

Please join us in honoring the lives and legacies of our fallen officers. Their watch may have ended, but their sacrifice will forever remain in our hearts.

Training never stops with our office!

Today, our guys and gals are putting in the work training for many different situations — building and room searches, active threat scenarios, and hostage situations. Every scenario is an opportunity to sharpen skills, improve teamwork, and prepare for the moments that matter most.
The reality is simple: we train hard so we can respond effectively when our community needs us most.
We are proud of the dedication, professionalism, and commitment shown by our team members to train for real life situations they all may face.

This week, Deputy Melissa Solem and Sgt. Derek Ricci, members of our Honor Guard Team, traveled to Madison to participate in the annual Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony.

Held each May during National Police Week, the ceremony serves as a time to remember and honor Wisconsin law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. The event brings together officers from agencies across the state, dignitaries, and the families and loved ones of the fallen in a solemn tribute to their sacrifice and service.

We are proud to have our Honor Guard represent our agency and stand alongside others from across Wisconsin in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸🖤💙

Behind every successful mission is training, preparation, and teamwork.

Our specialized Drone/UAV Team regularly trains to maintain the advanced skills necessary to safely and effectively operate the technology we use in the field. These aircraft are far more sophisticated than the “toy drones” many people are familiar with and serve as valuable tools in supporting public safety operations throughout our community.

Our Drone Unit assists with:
• Searching for missing or endangered persons
• Crime and crash scene photo/video documentation
• Intelligence gathering and situational awareness
• Large event monitoring and other critical incidents

Currently, our agency operates a fleet of 8 drones/UAVs equipped with advanced technology. Some of these aircraft are capable of speeds up to 52 mph, can operate at FAA-authorized altitudes of up to 400 feet, and during exigent circumstances and additional FAA authorization may allow operations up to 2,000 feet when necessary.

Several of our UAVs are also equipped with advanced imaging systems including:
• Night vision capabilities
• Infrared/thermal imaging
• Powerful cameras with up to 80x zoom

Every deployment is conducted responsibly and in compliance with FAA regulations and applicable laws. These tools help our deputies work safer, smarter, and more efficiently while serving the citizens of our community.

We are proud of the professionalism and dedication shown by the members of our Drone/UAV Team and appreciate the time they invest in continual training and skill development.

Behind every secure correctional facility is a team of professional men and women, who show up every day with resilience, integrity, and a commitment to performing a very difficult job the right way. Our correctional officers work in a very demanding and challenging environment, where professionalism, patience, and awareness matter every single moment.

Correctional officers are first class problem-solvers, communicators, and guardians of safety—for the public, for those in custody, and for each other. The work often goes unseen, but its impact is constant.

We appreciate the dedication and steady presence of our correctional staff. Thank you for what you do every day.
