📚 Book Club is underway at the Lee & Mary Markquart Center!

This school year, we started a Book Club to give our members the opportunity to explore different types of books and literature while building a love for reading!

This week, our members explored something a little different, a wordless picture book! Instead of reading words on the page, they used the illustrations to interpret what was happening and verbalize the story in their own words.

It was so much fun hearing the different stories our members created from the same pictures! Activities like this help build creativity, storytelling skills, vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence, while showing our members that there are so many different ways to experience a book.

We can’t wait to see what Book Club explores next! 📖

September Late Nights are coming up at the Lee & Mary Markquart Center! We have two special evenings planned for our members this month!

🎨 JR/TEEN LATE NIGHT: Bob Ross Paint Party
Tuesday, September 22nd | 6:00–8:00 PM
Jr. and Teen members are invited to bring out their inner artist for a fun and relaxing Bob Ross-inspired paint night! No painting experience needed—just come ready to create and have fun.

YOUTH LATE NIGHT: Game Night
Thursday, September 24th | 6:00–8:00 PM
Our Youth members will take on a night of game-show-inspired fun, friendly competition, and plenty of chances to show off their skills!

Permission slips are required for both Late Nights. Make sure to get yours turned in so you don’t miss out!

We’re looking forward to two great nights with our Club members!

Looking for a safe, fun, and affordable place for your child to spend their afternoons? Our 2026–2027 Afterschool Program gives kids and teens a place to learn, grow, make friends, and have fun after the school day ends!

We had such a great time at Northstar Middle School’s Back to School Night!🧡🐻‍❄️💙It was wonderful getting out into the community, meeting new families, and sharing everything the Lee & Mary Markquart Center has to offer this school year!

One of the best parts of the night was seeing so many familiar faces from our current Club families, some we haven’t seen since last school year! We loved getting the chance to catch up and hear how their summer has been!

Thank you to Northstar Middle School for having us and to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello, ask questions, or learn more about the Club. We’re getting excited to welcome everyone back for another amazing school year!

Join us Wednesday, August 19th, at the Lee & Mary Markquart Center – Eau Claire Club as we celebrate an incredible summer with our Club kids!

Thanks to our friends at Prevail Bank, we’ll have a dunk tank ready to go starting at 3:00 PM — and they’re putting some money behind every successful dunk!

For children 12 and under, a $100 flat fee covers the entire after-school year! For 13 and up? FREE 🙌

We Care Eau Claire is an incredible community event helping local students head into the new school year feeling prepared and supported. We’re so excited to be a part of it and connect with families in our community!

Since 2020, We Care Eau Claire has provided nearly 8,000 backpacks to students across the Eau Claire Area School District. The nonprofit will gather once again on Monday, Aug. 17 in Phoenix Park to provide students with essential school supplies — all they need to do is bring their own backpack to fill!

“(It’s) likely unheard of in my world to have this many churches working together,” Jordan VanProosdy, president of We Care Eau Claire, said. “It is so beautiful to see people working together … and (now), because we’re a nonprofit, then we can handle some of these things in a different capacity.”

Looking ahead, We Care Eau Claire’s board of directors believe they have only just begun to realize the annual program’s local impact. By bringing heart and mind together, organizers aim to deepen connections with the more than 200 annual volunteers, 40-plus participating nonprofits and extend their reach to assist ECASD educators all school year long.

We are incredibly grateful to F45 Training and everyone who helped make their 5th Annual Golf for Kids Scramble such an amazing success! ⛳️

Thanks to the generosity of F45, the golfers, sponsors, and everyone who supported this year’s event, an incredible $7,981 was raised for the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley! 🎉

Support like this makes a meaningful difference for the youth we serve every day. These funds help us continue providing safe spaces, caring mentors, enriching programs, and opportunities for kids and teens throughout the Chippewa Valley to learn, grow, and thrive. 💙
