🚨 Welcome to the Team, Officer Josh Smith! 🚨

We are a little late getting this official introduction out to the community, but we are absolutely thrilled to introduce Officer Joshua “Josh” Smith as the newest member of the Eatonville Police Department! 👮‍♂️✨

Officer Smith officially joined us back on July 22nd, and he has truly hit the ground running! In his short time on patrol, Josh has already jumped right into recovering stolen vehicles, acting on arrest warrants, investigating assault cases, and so much more. His dedication to keeping Eatonville safe is already making a huge impact. 🚓⚡

Get to know a little more about Officer Smith:

Background: Josh comes to us from Reno, Nevada, but most recently called Longview home. Before choosing a career in law enforcement, he spent years working as a carpenter 🛠️, which taught him the value of hard work and craftsmanship.

Off Duty: Outside of uniform, you’ll probably find Josh exploring the outdoors! He’s passionate about hiking 🥾, archery 🏹, and fishing 🎣, and never misses a chance to get out into nature.

Fun Fact: Josh is also a talented chef! 👨‍🍳 He went to culinary school and spent time working for catering and wedding businesses. If you ever need a new recipe or tips for your next backyard barbecue, he’s your guy! 🍔🔥

Josh tells us he is looking forward to getting to know everyone in Eatonville and is excited to be part of our close-knit, small-town community. 🤝🏡 He’s eager to serve, protect, and lend a helping hand wherever he’s needed.

What a night! Thank you to everyone who came out for National Night Out with the Eatonville Police Department. Despite the air quality being less than perfect, our community showed up and made it a fantastic Tuesday evening.

The inflatable Radical Run was a nonstop source of laughs (as always), and we loved seeing everyone having a blast with the games, swag, and all the activities. Huge shoutout to our vendors and volunteers—you make these events possible, and we can’t thank you enough.

A special thank you to the Department of Corrections, Karen Woodcock (Town volunteer), and Hannah Mustain (Town Admin) for helping serve up all the food with a smile.

And we want to give an extra special shout out to Nathon Smith for cooking all of the food, and to Jake Reed for bringing the DJ energy! Eevery year, these two show up and volunteer their time and equipment to make the night a success. You guys are the best!

Big thanks to the Town for serving up hamburgers and hotdogs slow-cooked on that massive smoker, plus potato and mac salad, chips, cold drinks, and more. The free food and good vibes kept everyone smiling, and the live DJ’s music and energy brought it all together.

We’re grateful for everyone who came out, pitched in, or just hung out and made the night special. Eatonville, you never disappoint!
