***ATTENTION***
Florida Statute § 790.06(12)(a)7
This section states that a person may not carry a weapon or firearm into:
“Any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district.”
This applies to:
Town Council meetings
City Council meetings
County Commission meetings
School Board meetings
Special district governing meetings
Florida law historically prohibited open carry under §790.053, and although recent court rulings in 2025 affected portions of Florida’s open carry restrictions, government meetings remain restricted locations for fi****ms.
