Call 9-1-1 for emergencies. Account not monitored 24/7 About Eatontown Office of Emergency Management
Established in 1982 the Eatontown Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is responsible for Federal and State Law, for the coordination of all Emergency Services in the Borough of Eatontown. We know that Emergencies can strike anytime, anywhere and in many

forms, such as a hurricane, snow storm, earthquake, flood, fire, and hazardous material; an act of nature or an act of terrorism. The Office of Emergency Management has the resources and responsibilities for dealing with all aspects of emergencies, plus oversees the four basic phases of Emergency Management which are mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. Emergency management involves plans, structures and arrangements established to engage the normal endeavors of government, voluntary and private agencies in a comprehensive and coordinated way to respond to the whole spectrum of emergency needs. The Mayor and Council work very closely with OEM to provide the support that is needed to be effective in all phases. The Borough of Eatontown Office of Emergency Management is responsible for implementing, reviewing, and updating the Emergency-Operating Plan. The Emergency Operating Plan (EOP) contains annexes for each borough department delineating what their responsibilities are in the event of an emergency or disaster. Where Borough departments cannot provide specific support services, outside agencies, such as the American Red Cross and Salvation Army, are contracted through verbal and written agreements to provide the service needed. The Emergency Operating Plan is reviewed and approved every 3 years by the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management. Annexes must be tested through functional, tabletop, and full-scale exercises. The Borough's Emergency Operating Center (EOC) is located adjacent to the police communications center in the municipal building. In times of crisis, all members of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) respond to Borough Hall and meet to address the emergency. The Office of Emergency Management also coordinates a Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT). Currently Barry Roth is the CERT Coordinator for Eatontown. The CERT program is a voluntary and is always seeking volunteers. Training is provided

The Eatontown, Oceanport, and Township of Ocean C.E.R.T. Teams conducted a joint ‘New Jersey Natural Gas - Partners in Safety’ training class last night.

The class was led by the local NJNG Partners in Safety Team and focused on critical safety awareness topics, including damage prevention, identifying and reporting unsafe conditions, recognizing trouble signs and signals, and properly reporting potential safety concerns.

CERT members also received hands on instruction in areas where CERT members may encounter during emergencies or even at their own homes. This included how to safely shut off a residential gas meter, understanding the components of basic gas meter, identifying gas lines, and recognizing common warning indicators that are located in the field.

The Eatontown Office of Emergency Management- C.E.R.T. Program extends its sincere thanks to the Oceanport Office of Emergency Management for hosting this training in their Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

We would also Iike to thank the NJNG Team for their time, knowledge, and continued support of our community preparedness efforts. Their commitment to training first responders and providing access to their quality facilities plays a vital role in strengthening our readiness.
