🌡️ HEAT ALERT: First Triple-Digit Heat Indices of the Year Expected 🌡️

The U.S. National Weather Service is forecasting very warm temperatures and high humidity across the region today and Thursday, with heat index values approaching 100 degrees for the first time this year.

As temperatures climb, remember to:
💧 Stay hydrated
☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day
🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
🏠 Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned spaces
👵 Check on elderly neighbors, family members and those who may be more vulnerable to the heat

Looking for a great way to cool off? 🏊‍♂️ The City of Eaton's Main Street Aquatic Center is open and ready to help you beat the heat with swimming and plenty of summer fun for the whole family!

Stay safe, stay cool and enjoy your summer, Eaton.

🚰 Eaton Public Works to conduct door-to-door Water Service Line Inventory June 9-12

The City of Eaton Public Works Division will be visiting neighborhoods throughout the city June 9-12 as part of our partnership with the EPA's "Get the Lead Out" (GLO) Initiative. The goal is to help identify water service line materials and develop a plan for replacing any lead service lines that may exist in our community.

During these visits, Eaton Public Works staff will be accompanied by approximately six GLO technical assistance providers. Team members will be wearing fluorescent utility vests and GLO identification badges displaying their names. Residents may be asked to assist in identifying the material of their home's water service line.

If you would like to identify your service line on your own, you can complete the City of Eaton Service Line Self-Identification Form by following the instructions provided through the city's "Get the Lead Out" program materials located at https://www.cityofeaton.org/261/Water-Service-Material-Identification
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, healthy, and lead-free water system for our community. 💧🏡

For additional information, contact the City of Eaton Public Works Division at 937-456-7157.
