Volleyball Camp 2026 wrapped up yesterday. There were over 60 campers again this year, clearly this camp is a popular one! It was another successful week of learning new skills and practicing those through drills. Congrats to all of the award winners and to the team tournament champions, the Pink Panthers and Spicy Cheetos. Thank you high school camp leaders, and to Coach Fields for running another great camp! 🏐

Congratulations to Katie Betzner on securing a spot on the podium, earning 7th in the State for discus. Julianne Deaton finished 11th in the shot put and 16th in discus, and Joel Appledorn finished 11th in pole vaulting.

Our first week of sports camps was a success! Kids of all ages learned and practiced new skills, ran drills, and worked together having fun with our high school athletes and coaches. Many thanks to everyone who made these first two camps so successful!

SWBL Announces Softball All-League Teams:

Dick’s Sporting Goods recognizes the fine student-athletes of the SWBL. Congratulations to Eaton’s Ella Statzer and Talawanda’s Maddy Cox for being named SWBL Players of the Year. Ross junior Paige Baker (Southwestern) and Carlisle junior Grace Holt (Buckeye) were named SWBL Pitchers of the Year.

Ross coach Christi Luckett was named Southwestern Division Coach of the Year for a third straight season. Brookville’s Mike Gardner was named Buckeye Division Coach of the Year.

Carlisle (Buckeye) won its sixth consecutive SWBL title, while Ross (Southwestern) won its third straight crown.

Way to go, Ella! 🦅

On Friday, May 15th, students at East Elementary participated in a Career Day that sparked their curiosity and imagination!

Throughout the day, all students had the opportunity to explore 11 interactive indoor and outdoor stations, each showcasing a different profession. Each station was designed to highlight diverse career paths, illustrating the unique skills and educational requirements involved. Presenters used hands-on activities to engage our littlest Eagles! Students were not only able to learn about various professions but also to discover the importance of education and training in pursuing their dreams. The event fostered excitement about the future and encouraged the kids to imagine the endless possibilities ahead of them!

Many thanks to our presenters who volunteered their time from Better Homes and Gardens FRG (Diamond Class Care), Blu Sky's Cafe, City of Eaton Police Department, Earlham College, FedEx, Preble County District Library, Preble Edge, Rumpke, Silfex, Town and Country Veterinary Clinic, and the United States Navy.
