🐝 Buzzing with purpose and a whole lot of heart! The Heroes to Hives program at the VFW National Home is underway, and our newest beekeepers are already rolling up their sleeves and diving into the fascinating world of hive care. From learning how to properly inspect a hive to understanding what keeps a colony healthy and thriving, these students are proving that teamwork, patience, and a little courage go a long way — both in life and in beekeeping. 💛

Our Spring Recital was a beautiful celebration of talent, courage, and creativity at the VFW National Home! ✨

Thirteen incredible kids took the stage to showcase their musical talents, sharing their hard work and passion with our community. From heartfelt performances to confident debuts, every moment reminded us how powerful music can be in helping children grow and shine.

A very special thank you goes to Ms. Rhonda for her dedication, encouragement, and unwavering support of our youth. Her passion for music inspires our kids to embrace their talents and express themselves with confidence. ❤️

The VFW National Home was honored to visit the office of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer alongside two very special representatives of our community — 2025–2026 Buddy Poppy Child Lachlan and upcoming 2026–2027 Buddy Poppy Child Noelani.

During the visit, Lachlan had the privilege of presenting Governor Whitmer with a plaque in appreciation of the kindness and support she has shown the National Home throughout her term. The Governor proudly showcased her Lachlan Buddy Poppy pin, and Noelani had the special opportunity to personally pin the Governor as well.

We are deeply grateful for Governor Whitmer’s continued support of the VFW National Home and the families we serve. Thank you for helping us carry forward our mission of honoring veterans and supporting military and veteran families. ❤️

The VFW National Home is honored to be recognized with the 2026 Veteran-Friendly Impact Award from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA).

We are deeply grateful to have been nominated and selected for this award in recognition of our RAVE (Regenerative Agriculture Veteran Education) program. Through RAVE, veterans receive hands-on education in regenerative farming along with business education, equipping them with the knowledge and foundation needed to build successful futures beyond our campus.

Supporting veterans and their families is at the heart of our mission, and this recognition reflects the dedication and passion behind programs that create lasting opportunities for those who have served.

We are especially proud of Laura Lonsbery, whose leadership and commitment have helped make the RAVE program such an impactful resource for veterans. Her work continues to inspire growth, empowerment, and hope within the veteran community and the National Home.
