Free breakfast and lunch will be available again this summer for children 18 and younger through Meet Up and Eat Up! Meals will be available at two district locations and must be eaten on site:

🚧 Pardon our dust! 🚧

Summer means construction season, and one BIG project we're excited about is the resurfacing of the Eastpointe High School track! Thanks to our sinking fund, the track is receiving a much-needed upgrade that will benefit our students, athletes, and community for years to come.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed in August, and we can't wait to share the finished results with everyone!

Do you know a civic-minded, student-focused individual who would be a great fit for school board service? The Michigan Association of School Boards is hosting virtual town hall events this summer to educate prospective school board candidates about board responsibilities, as well as filing and campaigning procedures.

Bellview Elementary recently hosted their annual Celebration of Life Walk in May, giving students and staff an opportunity to celebrate loved ones they have lost. The walk is a part of Bellview's "Watering Our Flowers" group, a school-based grief support program for students.

Before the walk, several students took the microphone in the gym to share a memory of their loved ones with their peers, before leading the entire school on a walk around the block. This is always such a special event to help students navigate their grief while also celebrating life and love. Thank you to the members of the Bellview community who make this possible every year! ♥️

A group of about 50 of our EHS freshmen took a trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts to experience their "Technological Innovations Through the Ages" tour last month. Led by the DIA's instructional tour guides, students explored the technology involved in historical practices of architecture, pottery, the mummification process in ancient Egypt, and artwork.

In addition, students of course had the opportunity to explore the DIA's artifacts, enjoying and learning about the parts of history that most interest them. Our 9th grade teachers said the students were engaged and eager to share their observations, thoughts, and wonders as part of the learning process, and had a great time doing it. What a fantastic experience! 🖼️

Ms. Moses and Mr. DeClaire's classes from Crescentwood celebrated the end of the school year with a trip to Metro Beach. It was a beautiful sunny day and the smiles were abundant. The students enjoyed the beach, played games, and had an outdoor lunch. What a perfect way to end the year! 🏖️

Bellview's "Girls on the Run" program celebrated another successful year by participating in a 5K together! 🏃🏾‍♀️ This program inspires participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others.

In addition to preparing for their 5K, the girls chose to do a service project to thank the firefighters. The Eastpointe Firefighters came to a practice and picked up the thank you cards. Way to go, girls, and thank you to the Bellview coaches who have been leading this program for several years!

Kindergarten, here they come! 🏫 Our ELC preschoolers were so excited to visit their future elementary schools and spend time with our current kindergarten students and teachers, giving them a taste of kindergarten read-alouds, art projects, and more. Some of the preschoolers were especially excited to see their older siblings!

We know moving up to "big kid school" is a big transition, but these trips helped take away some of the uncertainty and nerves for our smallest Shamrocks. Thank you to all four of our elementary schools, our kindergarten teachers, and especially our soon-to-be first graders for making our preschoolers feel at home! 💚

Before the long Memorial Day weekend, Pleasantview families celebrated their Father Daughter Dance.💃🏽🕺🏽 It was so amazing to see all of the dads come out together with their daughters to celebrate, and everyone looked absolutely fantastic! Our schools can't do what they do without our families. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate together! 💚
