The Christian life is not sustained by our own strength.
When we are weary, discouraged, or feeling the weight of this world, God is at work within us. Through His Holy Spirit, He strengthens us, renewing our hearts day by day.
And as our hearts are strengthened by His Spirit, Christ does more than simply visit our lives. He dwells within us. He makes His home in our hearts through faith.
May we ask God each day to renew us from within, to strengthen our hearts by His Spirit, and to make us more fully a dwelling place for Christ.
“That he would grant you… to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith.”

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
A Book Talk in Tales Told by Candlelight

Save the date: join us on Thursday, October 29th at 7:30pm for a spine-tingling evening with master storyteller Jonathan Kruk, bringing to life the legend of the Headless Horseman-the ghost of a Hessian trooper whose head was carried away by a cannonball during the Revolutionary War.

Presented by the Staples Academy Foundation and held in the historic Easton Congregational Church, this candlelit storytelling event draws from Kruk's own book, "Legends and Lore of Sleepy Hollow and the Hudson Valley."

🕖 Doors open at 7pm, performance begins at 7:30pm

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Congregational Church of Easton pauses to remember.
We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the firefighters, police officers, first responders, members of our military, and ordinary citizens whose courage and sacrifice revealed extraordinary strength in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
We also remember how, in the days that followed, people gathered in churches, reached out to neighbors, prayed together, and found comfort in faith and in one another.
May we never forget those we lost, and may we continue to pray for peace, for our nation, and for all who still carry the grief of that day.

We are not called to follow Christ alone.
In Ephesians 2, God calls us out of the life we once walked in and brings us together in Christ. We become “fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,” no longer strangers, no longer separated, but one people under one King.
The Church is more than a place we attend. It is the people of Christ gathered together, joined together, and “builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”
We have been called out of the world, called into Christ, and called to assemble as His people.
